Anti chucking rules has more or less ended off spin. Saqlain (don't go by whitewashing attempts by Pak fans), Murali, Bhajji, Ajmal, Hafeez, Senanayake all had dodgy actions and would have had to modify their action in present environment. Ajmal with his remodeled action struggled to make his FC team. Narine is allowed to chuck in leagues, that is why he is hesitant to represent WI, will be called for chucking and whole lot of problems after that. Bhajji was basically doing javelin throws in his last few IPL seasons, IPL can never be taken seriously until it complies with ICC rules.

Todd Murphy is the last hope and if he lives up to initial promise, will be the biggest threat to our invincible home streak. Undecided about Bashir.

Off spinners are predictable on most surfaces. You need some kind of variation. Not just alternating between 80 kph and 95 kph like that padosi English spinner did will work. Eventually they will get hold of him. It is easy to make a first impression. Sustaining it very very hard for an off spinner unlike left arm spinners who have the benefit of bowling a lot to right handers as most of the batsmen are right handers.

Kotian has potential. He needs to work on his consistency but could be a long term Ashwin replacement

I don't like his bowling. too flat and not much turn. but he has the advantage of being an AR
