saransh Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 (edited) He showed enough ability with the bat. He ain't Shardul Thakur level but there is something definitely there to work upon. No way DSP or Rana are better batsmen than him. Don't know how Rana got so hyped he is a way inferior bat than Akash Edited December 17, 2024 by saransh Vijy and diga 2

Don't know how Rana got so hyped he is a way inferior bat than Akash Rana has only played a couple of Tests. He has shown he can bat at domestic level but sending that moron Siraj who's a genuine no. 11 at 9 was shocking. It was similar to them sending Siraj as a nightwatchman against NZ. Looks like Rohit hasn't learned anything and lacks critical thinking and has a very low IQ. He can't even learn from his mistakes which even dogs & cats do. saransh and Vijy 2

Ultimately, when the need came he rose to the occasion. Harshit too is a handy batsman, don't judge and discard him so early. He too will come off once he gets some opportunities. Likes of Harshit, Yudhvir, Gurnoor, Akashdeep, Hangargekar are your no 8/9 type batters and are good with the ball. Vijy and Number 2

The thing with Rana is he has looked shockingly poor with the bat on all occasions he batted. It's not about making runs, he should have a somewhat survivable defence. Umesh Yadav too was a good slogger but he is not someone you would think of developing into a semi reliable no.9 he was a pure slogger, maybe Rana is somewhat like him. Akashdeep can be quite useful if he is willing to work on his defence Vijy 1
Vijy Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Akash is quite ok, but seems more like a no. 10 to me. however, since he is marginally better than boom and definitely better than DSP Shiraaz, Akash should play at 9
