He shouldn't be captian as he is a bit impulsive and immature in decision making, not because of his batting style. His batting style is actually great for our test team.

This is a new special media push to hype his captaincy up last few matches, pretend he is the mastermind when we were doing well

 

Even his biggest fans knows he cannot earn his place in team only on batting so this is last ditch attempt to save his place in the team, by becoming captain, lol.

 

Knowing his luck he might even lead our team to WTC win, just like he sucked entire T20 wc, played a poor innings in final, still took credit for victory and was man of the match

Captain has to be from the team, i.e. someone who deserves to be in the team. Select the best team and then pick a captain. This concept of anointing a captain and then finding a team is not ideal. Someone like Bumrah or Pant needs to be the captain, and they can groom a new captain such as Jaiswal or identify a young player with captaincy skills and back him.
