bowl_out Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 GST Rate cuts on essentials.. many categories down from 18% to 5%, some categories with nil rates. Sin tax on tobacco, paan, aerated drinks and luxury goods. Thoughts?

That's steep Finance guys can clarify.. seems there was a cess of upto 22% on top and thats dropped.. so effectively there is a slight increase. bharathh Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Sin tax is good IMO. Not sure about the cars.. That's said how many cars do ppl buy and how often? One time tax is ok - although I'm reading that the overall tax to be paid will reduce by 10%.
