Holysmoke
Mumbai: Indian seam bowler Ajit Agarkar has been declared fit and will be available for selection for the tour of Sri Lanka next month while batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is recovering well from his groin injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League (IPL). "Mumbai and Indian seamer Agarkar, who attended the rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, has been declared fit by the doctors over there after his shoulder was examined thoroughly," former India player and the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) manager cricket operations Suru Nayak told Cricketnext.com on Monday. Meanwhile, master batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who had aggravated his groin injury during the cash-rich IPL Twenty20 tournament early this month, is also recovering and a final call will be taken on him next month, according to another BCCI official. Though Agarkar has recovered fully, he would find it difficult to force his way back into the Indian team as there are hardly any domestic matches held in the month of July and with a new crop of quickies being unearthed during the inaugural Twenty20 tournament it will be an uphill task for the Mumbai star to stake his claim as he has not done full justice to his all-round talent.:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Two other seamers Zaheer Khan and S Sreesanth are going through the rehabilitation program at the NCA and their recovery status will be known within a couple of weeks. The Indians are slated to tour the Island country from July 18 to play three Test and five One-Day Internationals. Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
Stop maligning Aggy's name. He is one of our better bets when we play in Subcontinent (ODI's). Link to comment
vadodaravictor
I don't think he has any chance though. With bowlers like Ishant, RP Singh, P Kumar. Then we have Irfan who is recovering. Not to forget Zak & Sreesanth. It is better to try Gony than Agarkar. Link to comment
