Lord Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Identify this player and his claim to fame.. John Davison, fastest 100 in WC history
SachDan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 John Davison' date='fastest 100 in WC history[/quote'] Correct...easy one wasn't it? :giggle:
The Outsider Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Just checked Hobbs' stats...for a man who had scored more than hundred tons' date=' his average is not that great.[/quote'] He played most of his cricket during times where an average of around 40-45 was considered to be great. Hobbs, Trumper, Armstrong, Woolley would be some of the top batsmen from his era. While the rest averaged in the early 40s, Hobbs was a 50+ batsman.

Don Sharma Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 He played most of his cricket during times where an average of around 40-45 was considered to be great. Hobbs' date=' Trumper, Armstrong, Woolley would be some of the top batsmen from his era. While the rest averaged in the early 40s, Hobbs was a 50+ batsman.[/quote'] Thanks for the info. My knowledge about that era (prior to Hammond/Sutcliffe-Bradman's) is not so good. I stand corrected.
