There was a video circulating about Gill during Anderson Tendulkar trophy. It was created by trolls. But ECB used it to show the pattern of Gill's dismissal. He got cleaned up ball that came back in sharply as he left a gap between bat and pad.  Watching IPL you can see Iyer getting out to the same type of dismissal like he was out in last IPL final and world cup final. When he is new to crease when the ball is back of a length he just stands and fishes. Doesn'tmatter who the bowler is cummins, shepard, thakur or rashik whoever it is. He doesn't struggle once he is set though. But when he is new he gets out to this delivery frequently.  Jaiswal has these two types once when the ball is bowled short outside off stumps he tries to swipe it across and skies it. Remember he cost the Lords test with that ridiculous half assed pull in an ego battle. 

 

Although Gill has addressed it somewhat, Iyer's issue still exists. Frontfoto game takes a hit when you are setting yousrelf deep in the crease waiting for short ball. Even thouugh he has improved, he \has improved it by giving himself more time. That hurts his frontfoot game. Bit like how Raina succumbed to full balls occasinally expecting a short ball. It sohappens he gout out this way in 3 important matches. IPL final, wc final,  in a must win game against RCB., in amust win game agianst MI.

I think going forward Ai will be deployed to seek weakeness in bowlers and batters.
