Most often, the losing captains say standard stuff (could have got x more runs, the bowlers did not bowl in right areas, we dropped catches, dew played a role, we failed to capitalize on key moments, …) as if wanting to complete the formality and then run away. If a team has lost a lot of games on the trot, the captain can appear to be going through interviewer’s torture. Many times, I felt that Iyer could cry on camera. And we saw how Pant lost his senses. Give losing captains a break! PS If I recall correctly, Jayasuriya once gave up SL captaincy as the team kept losing and he did not like to give post match losing captain interviews.
