Is that Dravid's all rounder son or wicketkeeper son Really impressed with Dravid's two sons actually I wasn't impressed with Sehwag's son He looks like a forced opener I think he was picked for this tour mainly because he is Sehwag's son @vvvslaxman

Samit is allrounder and ayan is wk

yea. Dravid's son has some potential

Sehwag already 9 fours in his 40 runs.

The other day somebody said Sehwag's son plays like Dravid and David's son plays like Sehwag which must have hurt him.

Well we won by more than 100 runs India have always done well at the U19 level The problem is that the BCCI and team management don't always back U19 stars after the World Cup In many ways India's real talent pipeline is the U19 system

Winning U-19 cups mean nothing much, yes it does indicate that there is talent in next up coming player but not much.

U-19 player from Aus/Eng/SA improve alot as they progress , they gain alot of power game and develop better game vs spin and the bowler gain lot of pace and compared to Ind players they do not really develop much.

In last 5-7 how many u-19 pace bowlers have come in to Ind side , how many have improved on pace and quality ??

U-19 is no longer gateway to Ind side because power game is req. in intnls now and selection is via ipl, so 1st players have to make it to ipl and then have couple of good season there and then they can come into ind side.

Ind has won 6 u-19 wc since 2000, but has only 1 wc at intnl levels. And Aus has won just 3 u-19 wc in that time and have won 4 intl Odi wc in same time.

India never tried u19 bowlers since Irfan pathan. Unadkat was brought in for one test. Failed. Since then that experiment stopped.  Avesh khan just played in ODIs. 2018 was considered a decent batch. But they regressed or got injured.

2010 - Netravalkar 9 wickets Sandeep hsharma 7 wickets Unadkat 7 wickets

2012 - Sandeep sharma 12 wickets, Ravikanth singh 12 wickets , K Passi 10 wickets

2014 - Kuldeep yadav 14 wickets, Hooda 11 wickets

2016 - Avesh khan 12 wickets, Mayank Dagar 11 wickets

2018 -  Anukul Roy 14 wickets,  Shiam mavi 9 wickets, Nagarkoti 9 wickets

2020 - Ravi Bishnoi 17 wickets, Kartik Tyagi 11 wickets, Sushant mishra 7 wickets, Akash singh 7 wickets

2022 - Vicky ostwal 12 wickets, Ravikumar 10 wickets

2024 -  Saumy pandey 18 wickets,  Naman Tiwari 12 wickets,  Limbani 11 wickets

2026 -  Ambrish 11 wickets, Henil patel 11 wickets,  Khilan patel 9 wickets

Problem is India never fast tracks bowlers any more. Hazlewood, Rabada now Mpaka they get into the side very early and progress.

SENA players do not just naturally improve more
They are given immediate guaranteed starts in County or Shield cricket to fail adjust and grow
In India our U19 stars often get put on ice
Look at Sachin Dhas and Aravelly Avanish from the 2024 U19 WC
One spent the season on an IPL bench and neither got fast tracked domestic starts
A player cannot develop power or pace without consistent match time

Look at Yashasvi Jaiswal
Player of the Tournament in the 2020 U19 WC dominating senior cricket
Yet he did not feature in the 2023 ODI WC was benched in the 2024 T20 WC and will likely sit out the 2027 ODI WC due to seniority preference ahead of him
If an Australian or English player had his numbers they would be fast tracked into the WC XI immediately

SENA success is not because their U19 talent is superior
It is because their pipeline actually hands those players senior spots right away
Winning 6 U19 titles proves our talent floor is elite
What happens after is a management and backing issue not a lack of potential

All of these bowlers never improved their speeds either dropped off or they never improved.

The most impressive bowlers in last 10 yrs have been Mavi/Kamlesh and Bishnoi---Mavi is bowling 125 kmph, kamlesh is nowhere to seen. Bishnoi is exactly same bowler/player which he was in u-19 no improvements.

Akash singh was  bowling 140 kmph in u-19 now he bowls sub 130 in t20s.

The issue is not about fast tracking the issue is they are not selecting the faster & taller bowler in U-19 , and after that there is no development in them.

Most ind u-19 players  get to play in domestic before they are selected in u-19 , so there is no lack of chances. Every domestic team fast tracks the u-19 players.
