An interview with Aakash Chopra - Get your questions in

Akash, 1. Why do Indian players, who've made bucketful of runs in the domestic cricket, find it tough at international level and fail? (Example: Devang Gandhi) 2. What should we (BCCI and various state assosiations) do to reduce this gulf between Ranji matches and test matches, in your opinion?

1) Your first major overseas test series was the toughest of them all. Yet you & Veeru built consistent partnerships like seasoned openers, everytime you went out to open. What did you guys talk about in the dressing room, as your strategy ? 2) Do you reckon you have technical flaws against the incoming delivery, homing on your pads ? In subsequent series (post Aus'03), you have gotten out quite a few times this way (that may have eventually cost your place in the side).

1. Your writing is fantastic. Were you always this good or did you work on it? 2. Do you wish you were a more aggressive bat more like a Sehwag or are comfortable with your own style? 3. Should it really take 5 days to decide the outcome of a single game with a distinct possibility of even no result? 4. Which will T-20 kill if any? Tests or ODIs? 5. What do you think about replay challenges?

Two more from me: Q. At lower levels of cricket, 65-70mph can be considered sharp and 80mph is unplayable even for top order batsmen. How do domestic batsmen play such pace with such ease and have a greater threshhold. Is this through sheer reflexes, do you predict the line and length of deliveries well or is it merely from growing up around quicker bowlers? Q. I understand that you are a batsmen, but what sort of technical advice is given to fast bowler on the domestic circuit. Is it quite simple like keeping the front arm high or does it become quite complex?

How do you react to critics who commented on you for being slow and that you didn't convert your scores to big ones, when in fact you were told to bat like that by the team management? Also, Do you hate Viru for taking your plane ticket to Australia in 2008, now that he is back to form and is playing wonderfully?

1) When you play on Top International level and face bowlers of calibre of Mcgrath, Akhtar etc, how difficult is it to not surrender yourself to their Superman image even before you have faced a delivery from them? 2) Amongst the bowlers you faced, at National or International level, which bowler did you find was greatly impressive but somehow did not make it as a potential true great? 3) Give us some insights into Indian dressing room, if you can. Is SRT as calm and quite off the field as he is on it? Who is the prankster of the team? Who is the lead motivator. Who is the perfectionist etc? Any insights will be appreciated.
