DomainK Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Okay, this one is an interesting story of a colleague of mine. Happned quite a few years ago. This has a reference to pornography and adult stuff. Dont real if you feel offended with such stuff. This colleague of mine was newly tasting the fun of adult chatting and one day he started chatting with an id that seemed to be a very young girl (if it was a girl at all) who was never exposed to pornography. She requested him to show her some images of adult nature and the guy obliged. But the girl was not impressed as the guy was showing her images in which women exposed or indulged in sexual actions. The girl wanted to see men. So my colleague quickly downloaded some from the net and shared with her. Now, as I learned later, the rest of the conversation was pleasant and he was so happy in the end that he forgot to delete those images from his computer when he finally retired to bed. Even bigger mistake- he had saved those images in a folder on the desktop with an intention of deleting them after they served their purpose. The entire household had only one desktop compuer. Even though the computer was in my colleague's room, when some other family member needed to access the net, they used this computer only. The next morning, his father, who had a laptop of his own, needed to use the desktop as he had left his laptop back in his office for some software upgradations. My colleague, who was still asleep at 10 in the morning, opened the door for his father, switched on the comp and went back to sleep. By the time he woke up, his father was gone. The question was asked next day night- "Are you homosexual?" For a long time he couldnt understand what did he do to be considered a gay. Then his father showed him the mages and grilled him. Then my colleague made another big mistake. He was too shy and embarrassed to tell his dad about his adult chatting with the girl and hence he tried to find other excuses. He was too nervous to look convincing and the excuses he produced, whatever they were, not convincing either. That convinced his dad that he was trying to bluff and that he indeed was a homosexual. When he finally confessed to the true story, it was just considered another excuse. To make it worse, the guy never had a girl friend. The matter was discussed for quite a few days between the parents, an alder brother and my colleague. I came to know about him when I got a call from his father and was asked some ridiculous questions. I was his boss and his father had made a few weird assumptions from the frequent nights my colleague spent in the office working to meet deadlines (working overnight is as common in ad industry as breathing). His dad even threatened to sue the company over this. I tried to cool him down and promised to look into it. Then when I asked him about it, he broke down and told me his sad story. I laughed for hours after he left my cabin. His father had even gone to the extent of calling all his close friends and asking if they were gay as well.:hysterical: His dad, on his doctor friend's advice, forced him to go to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist, after a few sittings, confirmed that he was not gay. Still his family forced him into an arranged marriage immediately. My colleague was only happy that it ended. When some Indian parents feel "something wrong" be it "suspicion of love affair" or whatever else like "not motivated to find a job", or "not paying attention to financial matters" etc. Solution is simple: 'Force an immediate arranged marriage' - according to them, it is some utopian fix for all problems or what!? Probably they feel relieved passing the buck issues to some poor new gal who comes in after marriage!

On a serious note, DomainK, you should have done more to convince his parents that he is not a gay. Whatever it takes, I didn't expect you to be so irresponsible...:--D

His dad...didn't say anything.... my friend hid the magazine under his bed...but to be found out by his elder sister.... he got a good lecture from his sister...:cantstop:

One day, 4 of us were caught trying to shave with a blade...:--D His mom,banned our presence with him after that and threatened school principal to pull his son out if they refused to change his class :D

BTW, how did that guy, a fully grown-up man, just do and accept all his psycho asked him to do? Imagine going to a psychiatrist, trying to prove you are not gay. That must have been a horrendous experience for that guy, on top of all the embarrassment he had to endure coz of his father calling HIS friends and asking them if THEY were gay! Whatever it takes, I didn't expect you to be so irresponsible...:--D I did try sandtest and so did many of his friends. The biggest reason I tried was- I didnt want too many people from the office receiving call from his father. I know that if the word had spread, which didnt happen, the poor guy's career could have been badly hurt. People dont take it kindly. He would have become a joke in the office. Colleagues would have talked behind him, he would have been taunted, ridiculous nicknames would have floated, gay pranks would have been played. And its not only about one company, in this industry word spreads and people come to know. So I tried to talk to his dad. But it was no use as he considered all of us potential partners in crime. He just refused to believe. The old man was stubborn.

Not many parents are 'open and easy' to talk to in India. I should say my parents are reasonably open and easy to talk to and that has been a big help. Otherwise, there are so many parents I know who are very conservative and act all strict and tight-ish. Parenting in India is still in infancy. There is no free talk and discussion about sexual matters or even some other important topics. The only thing most parents in India talk to their kids about is "education, career, arranged marriage" and maybe some jokes and entertainment once in a while. That is parenting in infancy. They get threatened by any 'deviation from the accepted and norm'.
