kablooee87
That's got to be the most indecisive compilation I've ever seen. If you're gonna make the topic, at least give it some though rather than just writing down names off the top of your head. Anyways, mine would be 1. Saeed Anwar 2. Hanif Mohammad 3. Javed Miandad 4. Zaheer Abbas 5. Inzamam Ul-Haq 6. Imran Khan 7. Moin Khan (Wasim Bari was by far the best as a keeper but Moin brought more with the bat) 8.Wasim Akram 9. Waqar Younis 10. Shoaib Akhtar 11. Abdul Qadir ( this is basically a toss up between Saqlain, Mushy, and Qadir, although I always thought of Saqlain being better suited to LOIs) 12 man (as in, the person to replace Shoaib in the next match when he gets injured): Sarfaraz Nawaz The bolded ones are the ones I put down without any hesitation. I have a feeling I'm going to regret posting this specific combination as soon as I post it. Link to comment
MalikBrother
That's so hard considering many legends Pakistan has had ! Saeed Anwar - Brilliant batman i must say. Aamer Sohail - Same goes with him Imran Khan - Best Alrounder ever ! Zaheer Abbas - Best Batman of Pakistan ever had ! Javed Miandad - Indeed Legend , but inconsistent match winner... He was just like Sachin who leaves Pakistan in trouble after scoring a century. No Offence Atif Mujtaba ( not many people know him, but just try and watch Pak vs WI 93, Pak vs Aus 87 in Video Secion) - Atif Mujtaba was like Michael Bevan who was best finisher ever !. Sadly, was kicked out for no reason. Moin Khan - Best Wicket Keeper and Best Batman/Hitter in Last Ten Overs Wasim Akram - Best Alrounder, Fast Bowler and Hitter as well. Waqar Younis - Best Fast Bowler ever ! Master of Reverse Swing ! Saqlain Mushtaq - Best Spinner ever ! DOOSRA Mohammad Zahid - Fastest bowler in the world, but not many people will agree knowing he hasn't played the same number of matches as Akhtar did. But was faster than Akhtar !. No doubt That's best DreaMTeam in spite of not having Yousuf, Younis, Akhtar, Asif, Qadir, Sarfraz Ahmed......etc Link to comment
Holysmoke
I wouldnt know. I dont know their players, their history well enough. Wasim, Waqar, Saeed Anwar, Imran Khan, and Inzamam would be there for sure though. Maybe even Miandad. Dont know much about the rest of the players. Link to comment

ludhianvi
Taking a look at the wicket-keeper's slot: Wasim Bari had a batting average of 15.88 Moin Khan had a career average of 28.55 whereas Akmal has an average of 31.86. Player Matches Average Wasim Bari 81 15.88 Moin Khan 69 28.55 Akmal 38 31.86 Akmal had a decent start to his career with the gloves but had seemed to lose it in the middle. If he can sort out his keeping, I reckon he could be Pakistan's greatest, if not one of their great wicket-keepers. Well atleast statistically batting wise, even though he still has a long way to go:D Link to comment

fineleg
Ludhianvi, Akmal is a better Test batsman than Moin Khan and Wasim Bari probably. But he is a dismal keeper, so he'll stay far away :D Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Going from top down... Bowling: Akram, Waqar and Imran pick themselves. Shoaib is left out, as he doesn't contribute more than either in terms of control, the ability to bowl long spells or the ability (rather, the heart) to bowl in all conditions. Instead Fazal Mahmood comes in as someone who could be both a stock and strike bowler at the same time, move the ball about at pace and bowl long consistent spells any time and any place. Saqlain comes in ahead of Qadir as spinner for his control, nagging persistence and ability to bowl on less helpful tracks. So we have a 4-1 attack. Moin Khan is keeper, given the need for more strength in the batting. Middle-to-lower order could read: Imran at 6, Moin at 7, Akram 8, Mahmood 9 (not a bad batsman) and Saqlain 10 with Waqar the only true tailender. The middle order reads Javed Miandad at 3, followed by Zaheer Abbas and Inzamam ul Haq. Not that much competition for places there. Hanif Mohammad and Saeed Anwar open, the only two men who could be relied upon for consistent runs and starts up the order. XI: Saeed Anwar Hanif Mohammad Javed Miandad Zaheer Abbas Inzamam ul Haq Imran Khan (capt) Moin Khan (wk) Wasim Akram Fazal Mahmood (v/c) Saqlain Mushtaq Waqar Younis Link to comment

Zaheer despite his great batting talent never stood up to the W Indian bowlers like Miandad did in 88 or like Wasim Raja did for most of his career.Younis on the other hand seems like a brave batsman and will give you runs in tough conditions. My team 1- Anwar 2- Hanif 3- Younis Khan 4- Miandad 5- Inzamam 6- Imran 7- Moin 8- Wasim 9- Saqlain/ A Qadir(can't decide) 10- Shoaib 11- Waqar Shoaib> Fazal because who needs "great control" or "long spells" when you have a 100 mph bowler who can blow teams away.If it was a 4 men bowling attack then i would have considered Fazal. Moin> Bari because there is no "line and length" bowler who would need a great WK to help him out. Moin was also called the "man of the crises" mainly due to his ability to play quality innings when the team was in serious trouble. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Shoaib> Fazal because who needs "great control" or "long spells" when you have a 100 mph bowler who can blow teams away.If it was a 4 men bowling attack then i would have considered Fazal. Because Shoaib a) is not a 100 mph bowler, he's only hit that pace on a couple of occasions b) can blow teams away, but rarely does c) is too unreliable. No clue as to which Shoaib will turn up. Once in a while you get the world class quick capable of running through a side, quite often you get an overhyped paceman lacking direction and producing more bluster than unplayable deliveries, and sometimes you get an actor taking it easy while his teammates sweat. Mahmood by all reports was a true team man, one of the most respected players both by his peers and opponents, and a man who was held in very high regard as a role model/senior player in the dressing room. Had a fantastic cricket brain too, and with his batting (particularly in a lineup fielding only 5 specialist bats) would be more valuable. Link to comment
DomainK
I've made no qualms about my hate for him as a person but the ability is undeniable. I would not want a bowler in my team who would bowl one good spell of 5 to seven overs and then become a liability for the rest of the match. Link to comment
