I am just relieving him from godly status to mere mortal status' date=' once that is done people can analyze him in proper perspective in regards to his contribution to indian cricket, if Indian cricket is better served without him going forward.[/quote'] what about how indian cricket would have been without him?? obviously there will come a time when we have to move forward without him but i can't believe how people are putting him down even though he is scoring runs its a lose/lose situation

Exacltly. There is a group that surfaces each time Tendulkar has a low score and they claim his retirement. They again go under cover when Sachin scores. Why would you want a batsman of that ability to retire when he is playing so well?

Unfortunately, he cannot pass 35. That is failure with a big F !!
That's a great statement sir! Let me tell you that he has passed 35 of numerous occasions. Check your source.

Sachin will go down as the scorer of the most test runs (though it may take another 10 tests for him to get those 90 odd runs), but Missing when the Pressure was On and India needed him Most. Just Did Not get it done !!

Per Cricinfo, Sachin is pooping to pass 35 on this Lankan tour. All those who think he will pass 35 in the 2nd Inns, hands up !

When Australia can ask Steve Waugh to retire gracefully India can also ask the Fab four to do that, there is no more upside in persisting with them and it should start with Sachin being held responsible for his failures everybody else has been scrutinized and dravid and Ganguly are out of odis, Sachin also has to pay for his failures , he needs to step up or be gone.

Why would you imagine that it would take him 10 tests to score those runs given that just in the previous series he was cracking centuries and that he has been averaging 45 this year? Thats just your negative imagination and nothing else.

Please man! Just useful scores would do. In hindsight' date=' that 30 odd in 2nd innings at Galle helped. But just a solitary 30 in 5 innings?!? :nervous:[/quote'] ok he's having a bad series, but which player doesnt?? anyways even if he was scoring 50's we would have people complaining why is he not going on so its the same old thing in the end

Just the nature of the job! Its a professional sport - people adore you when you perform and bring you down when you dont. Like any other profession, be it an engineer/lawyer/doctor, you have the job as long as you perform. Not a single meaningful knock in 5 completed innings?!? Can you imagine a techie missing 5 consecutive delivery deadlines, and still having the job?!? You are held accountable for your failures and past achievements dont matter at that point. Why different yardsticks for different people?!? Not just singling out SRT here, but to the entire former fab 3.

He is averaging >45 this year. He won us matches in Aus. Apart from Sehwag NO INDIAN batsman averages more than him this year. So what failure you are talking about? Or are you saying players should be dropped after each series failure?

Okay. In that case, what you should say is: "Sachin has not crossed 35 in this series.." That would be a more specific statement. However, not scoring in a series does not make one a failure. Your Ricky Ponting has also seen such times. That is something that happens to everyone. Even the greatest of batsmen.

Ponting failed for around 10 innings but no eyebrows were raised. There is no way in the world any batsman can scored evry 5 innings every time. Not even Lara was that good

Not talking about big 100s here. Just meaningful scores in the context of the game. A 50 or a 60 could become match winning, but I dont see it coming in the 2nd innings however. I would be glad to be proved wrong though. Let's get realistic here and accept the fact that age has caught up with them. They just need to go out gracefully, i.e., make the Aus series their farewell series.

Well, I fail to see whats the comparision between Ponting and Tendulkar. In the last five year, Tendulkar averages 57.63 in away matches and Ponting averages 51.02 in away matches. Tendulkar has clearly been the better one in the last five years.
