The Outsider
Can the contrast be more definite in terms of wanting to play test cricket for the country? Link to comment
Tapioca
Aren't we lucky that it is Patel whose nose is broken, and not Dhoni :winky: Link to comment

Holysmoke
I'm sure Dhoni would have continued on even if he was hit. Still cannot believe you think Dhoni "doesnt want to play test cricket for his country" But heck, I'm not going to waste time on trying to explain the situation to you again. Link to comment
The Outsider
I'm sure Dhoni would have continued on even if he was hit. True, if he was playing for the Chennai Superkings with $1.5 million + lined up as he did as a specialist batsman when he was injured, but test cricket for India, I doubt it. Link to comment

The Outsider
OK then' date=' keep doubting.[/quote'] Actually no reason to doubt it, he is resting at this very moment because he decided to play through injury at IPL. Puts into perspective his priorities. Yeah, scratch the doubt part - I'm convinced Dhoni would have gone to the dressing room asking Dravid to keep so he can preserve himself for the tough battles ahead at IPL for the Chennai Superkings. Tapioca
Guys, why do we consider playing cricket for India such a great act of patriotism or self sacrifice ? It is their job, and they do it for money and fame, and because they like playing it. Just like the rest of us who do their day jobs for the same reasons. Considering playing cricket for India as something sacred is a little naive for this time and age. Link to comment

I myself migrated from India for better studies/jobs, and 100% support Dhoni's stance for more money. I am irked by his and his supporters hypocrisy who still think Dhoni gives priority to test cricket even though it pays less. But on the same note I admire those individuals more who stay back in India despite more lucrative jobs abroad because of their ideals and I admire those cricketers more who take pride in playing the ultimate form of cricket for their country rather than masala cash cow ventures. Shane
Atleast we now know who our no.2 wk is!!! look at the positives lads, Give Dhoni a break guys, hez been our MVP for over a year now, and about he not playing in the Series, it better than representing your country being partially fit, and defn dont want him to face a burn out Link to comment
The Outsider
Sachin Tendulkar picked up an "injury" after scoring a duck in the Chennai test and skipped the following two tests. However' date=' he made himself available for the IPL money notwithstanding the fact that he's the richest cricketer in the world and if there is any player who could resist IPL $$ it was him and him alone. Sachin however had no hesitation to shirk his national duties when time came for Asia Cup and Kitply Cup. Disgrace![/quote'] At least get your facts straight before trolling. Tendulkar missed majority of the IPL due to injury and missed out on the money because IPL money based on matches played. Unlike Dhoni who continued playing for Chennai Superkings so he can rake in the mullah as a specialist batsman. And anyways, this thread is about Dhoni and his shirking of test cricket for more money, if you want to discuss Tendulkar start your own thread and I might comment there. Link to comment

The Outsider
Nope' date=' you are the one who needs to stop whining and making up filmsy excuses. Sachin played in the latter half of the tournament. Was he sure about his fitness? Or did want to please his masters at reliance headquarters? If he had the slightest of doubt about his fitness then he should have stayed away. That's the least one should expect from a sportsman who's played for 2 decades and seen it all. Sachin chose to go for money. Over his country. Period.[/quote'] He was sure of his fitness and was given clearance by the best medical professional available. Dhoni, on the other hand, was declared unfit for keeping so decided to play as a batsman to rake in the money. And even if you feel Tendulkar chose money over his country why are you trolling on my thread about Dhoni. Start your own about Tendulkar. Link to comment

I think he chose not to keep so he doesn't risk further damage to his back anyways Dhoni wanted to take a break during the Asia cup and BCCI forced him to play so its not his fault he couldn't rest then Link to comment
The Outsider
How do you know he was sure? Why did he opt out of the two tournaments then? He clearly deemed them less important than IPL because of money. And we are talking about a cricketer who earns considerably more than any other sportsman in India. What a shame! I am backing my statement on the facts presented by some of the best medical experts in India who declared him unfit for initial stages of IPL, fit for the latter stages, and then unfit for the ODIs. Not some flimsy BS about wanting to rest from a test series in a country where we are playing after 7 years. It takes one troll to recognise another. Glad to meet you. Now why don't you follow the troll you admire so much and open your own trolling thread about Tendulkar. Link to comment
Temujin Khaghan
C'mon dhoni is not your slave. he should play only if he feels like. if tommorow he wants rest after the one day series then he will get it. from the bcci's point of view, they should find an able keeper to substitute dhoni.
