How many of you say he could still play at very high level , his play at IPL showed , he could be the very best but he retired while at top, why is the fab four who all have had their moment but they are not consitent enough in last two years to say they are on top of their game any more. When Gilly can retire why cant these guys do the same and allow youngsters to take charge enough with their playing and ruining the indian cricket.

Yup this is the time- I ma sure they can play some more, drag it out and have a few excellent knocks here and there but it will be sad to see them go in a real declined state vs. at least in some class. But for tests VVS still looks good so Fab 4 should be SRT,SG,RD and AK.

Kumble and Ganguly should not be picked for any format any more. Dravid should be played in Aus series, and if he performs with 45-50+ average in that, should be retained for sometime. Sachin and VVS can play longer. VVS should be promoted to #3 in case Dravid is out of the team. Badri should be brought in for Ganguly. Ojha/Chawla for Kumble. Dhoni should be in.

Dravid's struggles are main reason for this middle order woes, he was one constant always there doing his bit in every match but since he became captain , his batting is just consistent enough and that has continued after he relinquished his captaincy.I dont know about him , I would like him to regain form. Kumble was main reason why we lost this match his utter lack of penetration in first innings , where is mr Bowling Coach who declared his seamers as best in the world, Ishant may become great but for that he needs to run thru batting orders rather than taking a wicket here and there and having one great spell in a match.

Our players don't like the concept of going out when they are on top or realizing when their time is up. They need to embarass themselves, cost several youngsters spots for a few years, take the team to mediocre levels and then have the selectors dump their sorry asses down. That's just the way they like it, apparently.

^ Exception: Gavaskar! When he signed off, people wanted him to play in Tests a little longer...he timed it beautifully - the B'lore Test. Very few do that in Indian cricket - Kapil Dev was the opposite. Was reduced to a rather pedestrian bowler when he retired.

1. when the whole team fell like a pack of cards why point the finger at a particular person? so nice of you to ignore the vital runs he scored in all the tests...there again this 2nd innings question arises! He'll be fit by the time Indian team takes field in the first match of the Champions Trophy....he'll be hoping to win that major one.

fab 'four' are jackass turds who are a greedy bunch...want to make more money and block young talents who could win games for Team India.
This is getting ridiculous. I could be wrong but didn't the BCCI limit the number of sponsorships to two/three for contracted players thus limiting their external source of income? Either way, any one of these players could retire from test cricket today and probably make more money by signing more endorsement deals, doing cricket shows, touring the private/public appearence circuits for huge sums of money etc, playing country cricket in England etc. Why don't we give specific reasons for individuals dealing with relevant cricketing facts such as this player's foot work is gone, their range of shots has diminished because they're not in form or they are tiring and can't keep up intensity over long bowling spells etc instead of tossing out ignorant and down right childish statements like the above. :cantstop:
