Dravid is useless in any other positionother than #3. At #5 down, he has to have a top order batsman to have a faster partnership. At #3, he already has a top order batsman for the team to score faster.

I'm gueesing it may look like one of these two picks: 1. Sehwag 2. Dravid 3. Laxman 4. Tendulkar 5. Ganguly 6. Dhoni 7. Kumble 8. Harbajhan 9. Z. Khan 10. I. Sharma 11. M. Patel/RP Singh I think if the Indians take 5 bowlers in - 3 paceman, this is how I think the team will look. However, if they decide to take 4 specialist bowlers, then Gambhir will play and it would look more like this: 1. Sehwag 2. Gambhir 3. Laxman 4. Tendulkar 5. Dravid 6. Ganguly 7. Dhoni 8. Kumble 9. Harbajahn 10. Z. Khan 11. I. Sharma Ganguly offers medium-pace; Sehwag can turn his arm-over. My 2nd option, with Dravid and Ganguly offers Tendulkar some support in the middle order. My first option I think, leaves the Indian middle-order exposed.

Very good thread .Laxman is very good in number 3 position ,so was Dravid .But Laxman is good at any position except opening ,but Dravid is only good at number 3 .And he seems to be too bothered about any change of position .So either we have to drop him or play him number 3 .
