To be fair Mohammed Ali was born Cassius Clay. He changed his religion and was christened as Mohammed Ali. To your point however, yes it is considered no biggie to support a celebrity/player. Even the hardcore rednecks in Texas are a big fan of Terrell Owens. However when it comes to vote for Obama many of these will face what is called as Bradley effect.

Why? I mean, why the hypocrisy..same with some of our Indians right Zaheer Khan - vow but all muslims are bad!
It is similar to I-wont-marry-Muslim(or Hindu or Sikh whatever the case may be) but-I-have-no-problems-sleeping-with-them. Hypocracy? Sure.

So what happened?' date=' we all know it was a image move[/quote'] He is one of the most admired Indians. You will be hardpressed to find many who don't like him. Even people who do not agree with his views admire him .You can make some one a president as an image move...but you can't make people love him. Our present president is also an image move...but you will be hardpressed to find a handful of admirers for her.

It was some random old lady at a McCain campaign rally. It's a silly attempt by desperate McCain supporters to create a subliminal link between Obama and Saddam Hussein. As is saying that Obama rhymes with Osama. McCain's campaign would do a lot better pointing out Obama's real flaws (of which there are many) rather than focus on this nonsense.

So what happened?' date=' we all know it was a image move[/quote'] Also, one can argue Obama converting to Christianity was the biggest image move. So was Piyush Bobby Jindal converting from Hinduism. It works both ways.

pity the other side is not doing the same... its not about policy, its a popularity match now. we are just electing the prom king here... no leaders or visionaries...
