22470_1.jpg Remember the above ad by virgin mobile? The I&B ministry got complaints that the ad is vulgar and derogatory to the nursing profession and down came the axe. The I&B ministry is becoming a joke now.

This is ridiculous. There are movies out there that have markedly more vulgar scenes in 'em, but the moral brigade does nothing to curb that, but they're up in arms only for ads? Though what I've always found ridiculous is the underwear ad for men. I have no idea why you should make a grown up man, with only his underwear on to appear on T.V to sell underwear. What were those models thinking anyway! But by far and away the most suggestive ad I've seen on Indian television is one for an Choclate ice-cream bar or something ( The brand's name misses my memory). In that, a terribly seductive young women with alluring eyes and thick lips keeps sucking at her ice-cream. It was so brazenly suggestive that you couldnt ever miss the hidden analogy. Think that ad was banned too.

The movies are rated, ads are not.
