The "big weed" that he is!!!

Hayden yesterday strongly stood by his captain Ponting following his controversial decision to surrender the initiative in the fourth Test against India in a bid to avoid suspension for a slow over-rate. "Often we find ourselves waiting with hands on hips for someone to face up or someone on the sight board to move away or some of those little frustrations happening with Third World countries," Hayden said. "Ricky is an absolute bloody champion and he has won right across the globe in his reign in his captaincy.

The term 'Third World' was coined by Jawaharlal Nehru (First Prime Minister of India), originally to distinguish nations that aligned with neither the West nor with the East during the Cold War, including many members of the Non-Aligned Movement. Today, however, the term is frequently used to denote nations with a low UN Human Development Index (HDI), independent of their political status. However, there is no objective definition of Third World or Third World country and the use of the term remains controversial.

Yeah' date=' I was pretty angry about it too but whatever. They lost. We won. And he makes it seem[b'] as if that the batsmen adjusting, etc. only happens in third world countries.
exactly. Batsmen from all countries indulge in these - but he thinks only "3rd world countries" behave this way. He LOST 0-2!

I think India as a country has gone well past playing the angry victim whenever someone makes an oblique reference to a 'third world country'. Yes, we still have a lot of poor people, but I am sorry, We aint third world anymore. Hayden must be talking about someone else.

Yeah right...they were behind on the overs because of batsmen waiting to face up and sidescreens...what utter nonsense and the indirect insinuation by Haydos is bordering on lying. Well, if he is going to undermine his credibility like that, who is going to take him seriously when he backs Ponting so glowingly? Only one-eyed fans...no one else.
