Guest dada_rocks Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 http://www.starboxoffice.com/newsDetails.aspx?xfile=2008/December/News_20081208_62 I already am on staple diet of Jagjeet Singh Ghazal.. seems will have to create an idol of him..
Rajiv Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I saw his interview on TV, I wish I could have uploaded it Some pts - pakistanis why do they come here, go and sing in ur country. No one called and gave condolences or asked me if I was OK so all that dostana is only revolved around money
Cricketics Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 good on him. but who gives these singers the visa to come here?? offcourse, guys like mahesh bhatt should be banned from making movies in India form now on, if they bring any paki singer or actress
Lurker Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Jagjit Singh is right about Pakistani singers making money in India and not paying taxes. Making money and paying taxes is a universal trait. A Pakistani expatriate in UK pays his taxes so how come he doesnt do so in India. This is of course assuming JS is correct about this whole saga. JS is wrong on saying Pakistani singers are bad. His statement took me back to mid 80s when some Pakistani singers would suggest that singers like Pankaj Udhas, Anoop Jalota, Chandan Das were not good enough ghazal singers, only JS was a quality product and even then he wasnt a patch on Mehendi Hasan, Ghulam Ali etc. Its a futile argument, why get caught in that?
Desi Cartman Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Its business ! if they can sell records then the music companies would hire them .. having said that why the hell Bharat Sarkar doesnt get them to pay taxes
vadodaravictor Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Respect :hatsoff: But I think he went overboard by denigrating contemporary Indian singers

Not quite... infact, there are numerous foreign nationals living in the United Kingdom, who have huge estates, massive businesses and yet do not pay a penny in taxes. They are given a 'nondom' status where they are encouraged to live in the united kingdom, with the lure of not having to pay taxes, under the assumption that they would stimulate greater economic growth by simply reinvesting their earnings in the local economy. A number of russian steel czars enjoy this particular status. So if adnan sani does not pay taxes in india, maybe he should be required to pay the RBI for any monies that he sends abroad since sending money from india to foreign states depletes our national reserves.
rahulrulezz Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I can understand why he is asking for boycott of Pakistani Singers from Pakistan but I dont understand Adnan Sami Part... the guy is Indian, applied for Indian citizenship and is officially Indian..as a matter of fact, he actually says he finds himself more Indian... this way, all of us NRI Indians in Canada/US should not be given work in America either... the thing is, if Pakistani singers are willing to give up their Pakistani citizenship for Indian, that should be good enough..if we ban Adnan Sami, it will send a wrong message and this way no foreigner will want to live and wanna become Indian coz we wont consider them Indian....... though i understand why he thinks Atif Aslam like singers should be banned coz they make money here and send it to Pakistan..
