Chandigarh is a planned city but recently I read somewhere that it was planned for max 5 mil and present population is around twice of that. Its becoming congested but the good news is that surrounding areas like Mohali are developing fast.

All this Noida/Shoida crap is nothing compared to Chandigarh - you have to live there to experience the planning of the city. For example, I am yet to see an Indian city with a dedicated green belt......Chandigarh has a green belt running right through the center of the city through it's entire North-South. Also, it's location is perfect.......you can see the Himalayan foothills from there and Shimla is a 3 hour drive with Kasauli being only 1.5 hours. The weather can get quite hot during the summer but even then on most days you get a breeze from the hills in the evening to cool things down a bit.

But there is one thing that I find weird about Chandigarh they Guys have had Girl friends and their parents are always open minded but whenever u ask ke aapki behan ji ki shaadi kaise hui then the line that I mostly hear is "OO yaar she is very SAU ... We had to find a guy for her .. she is so shy that I had to go with her every time she went to meet her fiance even if it was 2 days b4 the wedding". I mean if all behans never dated then whom are the guys dating ... I dont get it :hmmmm2: PS: not that all people are like that but its a very common answer from guys from Chnd.
