The election result predictions in Bangladesh shows that Awami League of Sheikh Hasina has swept the elections with more than 220 seats virtually eliminating rivals which consists of four party alliance of radical Islamists lead by Begum Khalida Zia. This is a positive sign for India at the moment since Sheikh Hasina is inheritor of Bangladeshi freedom fighter Mujibur Rehman and India had fair relations with her government in past, until Islamists took over Bangladesh lead of Begum Khalida's BNP. But further down the road things are getting very predictable as Islamic angle kicks in :giggle:. Such a huge mandate of more than 2/3rd majority will virtually provide power to any government in any part of the world to amend constitution and this is why Islamists and BNP are crying foul. Jamaat Islami of Bangladesh receives fundings from oil rich Islamic countries in Gulf like Saudi Arabia who want to see Bangladesh spread Saudi Sunni Wahabi version of pure Islam as happened in Pakistan during Gen. Zia Ul Haq period. So here are some possibilities which we might see in coming days --- (1) Islamists allaince of BNP might start a huge wave of protest, strike, violence and gore to make any attempt of government formation and future governance of Awami League in-effective. (2) The Islamists within Bangladeshi Army might support Begum Khalida Zia in her foul cry that the elections were a fraud and hence they will not abide by result. (3) Bangladesh continues with military rule (4) Blame everything on India from flood till poverty meanwhile consistently maintaing that Awami League is an 'Indian" agent, RAW yada yada in full paki way if India and world ask BD to honor election results Interesting times ahead :giggle:

Leaflets asking Muslims not to elect a Hindu candidate have been distributed in a northern constituency of Bangladesh in the run up to the Dec 29 general election, a media report said Monday. Three types of leaflets distributed in Thakurgaon-1 constituency ask people not to vote for Ramesh Chandra Sen, the nominee of the Awami League (AL) because he is a Hindu. Voters have been asked to elect Mirza Fakhrul Islam, nominee of the rival Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), The Daily Star newspaper reported. The leaflets - one containing verses from the Quran and their translation, the other a parody of a popular song and another a few short Bangla verses - bear the name of Bangladesh Muslim League presidium member M. Shamsul Haque. He is currently the vice-president of Thakurgaon Sadar BNP committee. The party Haque belongs to was powerful during the Pakistan era, but has not had mass support in Bangladesh since the 1971 separation. Election Officer Mohammed Saiful Islam told The Daily Star that the distribution of the leaflets "is not a violation of electoral rules since no Muslim League candidate is participating in the election from this constituency". However, Sen said the leaflets had an appeal beyond party lines and were meant to exploit Muslim religious sentiments. One of the leaflets, titled "Al-Quraner Bani" (teachings of the Quran), quotes different verses and clearly asks Muslims not to cast their vote for a non-Muslim candidate. Islamist parties like Jamaat Islam and BNP will try everything including violent protests to prevent Awami League transition in power. Moreover, Bangladeshi military is getting slowly but surely radicalized under Islamic influence, so they too would like to form a "parallel" power center and use it. In a nutshell it indicates a clear similarity with their more pious Islamic brothers in Pakiland. What India needs to do is, ask Bangladeshi Army chief in clear words to honor the electoral decision and prevent Bangladeshi democracy becoming a joke like Pakistan. Given the present UPA governments lack of any vision for Indian interests and security, added with Congress's past action of turning a blind eye towrads BNP governments Islamization attempt in Bangladesh and India ingnoring Awami League when it was going through bad phase, I highly doubt now Awami League of present will look towards UPA government in New delhi in same way as they were during Narsimha Rao/Vajpayee administration.

Unlike India where Hindu extreme groups like Shiv Sena are increasing their seats in the Parliament every election, this time ONLY ONE ISLAMIC PARTY CANDIDATE GOT ELECTED in Bangladesh. From 12 last time it has come down to one.

Get your facts right. BNP is not an Islamist party. It is a centre-right party kind of like your BJP but nowhere near as extreme. They too have fielded Hindu and tribal candidates in this election.

Your illegal brothers have already successfully changed the demography of bordering areas of Assam, even High Court Justice of India accepted this in one of PILs, but again I will not blame illegal Bangladeshis, when we have Chinise w*h0res ruling in west bengal. Why need to go till Assam, just watching outside I.C. Come back again, when Sheikh Hasina's Awami League completes it's full 5 years term. I will wait for that. And remember this, Your Army has now tasted the joy and benifits of being in Political Power, which is addictive. Don't believe this? Ask your martial race delusionist pious brothers in Pakiland army about how to overcome the addiction of political power. That is why, there is fair chance that army will assist BNP in making life difficult for AL to rule in B'Dland, although AL has virtually won all seats. And there Bangladesh moves towards anarchy.
