flamy Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Haha, I kinda expected the ending to be lukewarm (I havent watched anything after the first 5 eps). The same producer had an earlier series which started with a great bang and the first three seasons were great but most of the questions were left unresolved and the series got cancelled. Part of the reason I'm waiting for Lost to end before watching it completely.

MiB gains the powers to turn into smokey when he was thrown down the light, Island has supernatural properties. Walt they didn't explain but it could be he was special as in he was a smart kid they could recruit and brainwash like Ben.

The world wasnt going to end, just the Island was going to sink.Besides, what is the island? How exactly was time travel possible. FYI, just because he became the smokey does not bring closure. There was no evidence how he became it...not some magic transformation. Island has supernatural powers is something the writers have been denying for 6 years. It was all supposed to be science. What about the statue?How did Jacobs mom have supernatural powers to make rules.......so many unanswered questions. In the end, you could say , it was all magic. That's like saying, they have no clue so they call it magic. A lot of people would have stopped watching it a lot sooner if thats what it is.

How everyone survived the crash 2. How Locke's handicap healed 3. How injuries, cancer seem to heal very fast 4. The Smoke Monster and all of the other brain-tripping time traveling island disappearing mumbo jumbo. I don't think the producers have ever claimed that they promise to explain everything with science did they? And the world ending part, its hinted throughout the series that destruction of island = destruction of world. Button pressing to save the world, Jacob claiming the world as you know it would end if MiB left (which can only happen when the light was destroyed). Eko claiming he saw "The Devil" in the smoke, and Smoke was created in the light where apparently Red Lava was being corked, and then he got pretty mad when Locke wasn't pushing the button. I think we can say it was hell or something that would have done some damage than just consume the island. I agree there's a lot more unanswered questions though like you say, they could have gotten a Season 7 out of it, but overall I think all major questions have been answered.
