Brainfade Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 No, I am not talking about Sonia Gandhi. PESTO!! Fresh basil; almonds (instead of the traditional pine-nuts); garlic; EVOO; fresh-grated Pecorino-Romano (instead of Parmigiano); salt & pepper and for my touch - a bit of fresh rosemary and some good old mirchi powder! Grind. Yum.
Sachinism Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I discovered pesto about 2 years ago and loved it Usually have it in a panini with mozzarella and fresh tomato or sometimes sun-ripe tomatos
cowboysfan Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 mirchi powder?why would you spoil the taste and smell of basil?
Guest dada_rocks Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 how to salvage notion of "TYAAGI" out of possible embarassment of getting shown middle finger by president of India and indian constituion
Brainfade Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 mirchi powder?why would you spoil the taste and smell of basil? Well, I need a little "bite" in everything; I usually add cayenne to pesto, but didn't have any when I made it last time. So, mirchi it was. And a tad bit doesn't bother the basil's freshness one bit :)!
