punjabi_khota Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I think 3 changes is too much. Lets have 2 changes max. We need to carefully calculate home and away averages depending on where the match is supposed to be held (ground chosen randomly). Doing these calculations and then excluding performance against the minnows may be too much work without some automated program...
SachDan Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 vote karo bhailog I'm also against excluding the performances against minnows. We'll go for a vote if Gambit is adamant about that !

f.b.m Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Gooch - 42.58 Richardson - 44.77 (5th Bowler: Ave: 21.00) De Silva - 42.97 Chanderpaul - 49.53 Michael Clarke - 49.40 (well, we have a sixth bowler. de Silva used to bowl quite a bit aswell) Salim Malik - 43.69 Dhoni - 36.14 Kapil - 31.05 / 29.64 Streak - 22.35 / 28.14 Warne - 17.32 / 25.41 Donald - 10.68 / 22.25 Total runs: 390.48 (that, with noone averaging 50!) Overall bowling: 111.74 (if you take in 0.3 * 5th bowler avg) Ratio: 3.49 I have a sneaky feeling we might have won this. Its mostly because of our all round strength. Kapil, Streak, Warne at 8, 9 and 10; Clarke and De Silva arent even the fifth bowlers! Taking Richardson instead of that other guy was an ace move, Dan! edit: This is my 1000th post. Jeez that was quick.

Jeez that was quick. Using Richardson's bowling average is a farce. He got ONE wicket in his bowling career. It should not be allowed.
nospam Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Using Richardson's bowling average is a farce. He got ONE wicket in his bowling career. It should not be allowed. if thats the case, there should be a limit of atleast 50 overs bowled in his career? you guys decide...
Gambit Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 WTF?!You guys can't use Richardson. That is not on. 5th bowler should have minimum 50 wickets.
Gambit Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 is this Richi Richardson you guys are talking about? cricinfo does not list his bowling avg Mark Richardson, the former NZ opener.
SachDan Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 WTF?!You guys can't use Richardson. That is not on. 5th bowler should have minimum 50 wickets. There was no such rule. Average is all that matters :hysterical::hysterical:
rahuliverpool Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I'm also against excluding the performances against minnows. We'll go for a vote if Gambit is adamant about that ! Yep same here, if we are taking them in our team, it makes NO SENSE AT ALL to exclude performances against them ! Please vote people, this rule is hopeless. Agar unkse saath performance exclude karni hai, toh fir unhe hi exclude karo
nospam Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 There was no such rule. Average is all that matters :hysterical::hysterical: if thats the case then I would have taken Taibu who avges 23-27 less than Olonga....
f.b.m Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Using Richardson's bowling average is a farce. He got ONE wicket in his bowling career. It should not be allowed. That was the whole point of picking him. We had other one wicket merchants but chose him. Anyway, if it shouldnt be allowed it should have been posted some time ago. We knew what the loopholes were and exploited them. end.
Gambit Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Ok. I'll do the following - - Open a new thread with final teams. - Add a poll regarding changes - For minnow stats, each team owner should vote by posting a simple yes/no

The Outsider Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Come on! The 5th bowler must be a bowler and not some joker. Also, what is this about penalizing for making wrong choices earlier - it's simply an oversight to not see who has been picked?
SachDan Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Ours was a complete team effort. We deserve to win :icflove:
