nospam
what do you mean home ? there is no home country for any team... oh man im confused as ****. please ignore my previous posts. Link to comment
The Outsider
hmm i thought we were just posting stats - batting and bowling averages Team 1 posts stats in all 7 countries + home Team 2 posts stats in all 7 countries + home ... then we would rank according to the countries - the team that leads in most countries wins the compt. There are no real one to one match ups in this proposal, which I thought was the purpose behind choosing the teams.....let me try to think up of something if I can. Link to comment

bunny
How about if we divide the cricket nations into 4 groups: Aus/NZ, Pak/Ind/SL, SA/Zim and Eng/WI. Each group counts as one home nation. And then we divide the team into 2 pools as Shwetabh suggested. And matches between 2 teams in a pool can be in any of the 4 nations... Link to comment
The Outsider
This is the fairest proposal I could come up with : List down the 8 venues alphabetically (let's agree to exclude Zimbabwe): Aus, Eng, Ind, NZ, Pak, SA, SL, WI List down the teams with countries from which they picked 2 players : 1 - SA/Aus 2 - WI/Aus 3 - Eng/Aus 4 - Pak/Aus 5 - Pak/Ind 6 - SA/Aus 7 - Ind/Aus 8 - Eng/Aus Now allot the venues alphabetically to the first country where one of the teams does not have two players from (if both have 2 players from the venue, that's acceptable). So we get : Group A : 1-2 Aus 1-3 Ind 1-4 Eng 2-3 NZ 2-4 SA 3-4 Pak Group B : 5-6 SL 5-7 WI 5-8 Eng 6-7 Aus 6-8 Ind 7-8 NZ Group A 1st vs. Group B 2nd -> First alphabetical venue after NZ where one of the teams does not have 2 players Group A 2nd vs. Group A 1st -> Second alphabetical venue after NZ where one of the teams does not have 2 players Final -> Third alphabetical venue after NZ where one of the teams does not have 2 players Can't think of a fairer system than this!
