Gambit Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 How did you guys cope with their (forced) retirements? I'm having withdrawal symptoms already re: SRT.
Bumper Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Re: Tips from Sunny/Kapil fans SRT did not give our country half as much as Gavaskar or Kapil. I have lived thru Kapil's retirement. I dont think we're missing a match winner here. Some great batting memories from SRT. Thanks for that, now please make way before being a burden on the side.

Gambit Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 Re: Tips from Sunny/Kapil fans bumper, I know how you feel. But I am/was a big fan. He was the only 1 we looked upto in the 90s. I want to remember him as THAT batsman.

Didnt care about Sunny's retirement. Was heartbroken with Kapil's retirement but his struggles made me ready. Wont lose a effing fart when SRT retires.

Lurker Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Re: Tips from Sunny/Kapil fans Lurker thats sad ... of all people you say such a thing. I wont be in a minority BB. I remember 2 years back I had written an article suggesting how it was deja vu all over again. SRT's demise reminded me of the huffing-puffing Kapil Dev. The same Kapil Dev who for the first half of his career was the absolute best in the world(and I keep reminding every fan the same). But he didnt know when to go. Same with Sachin. Today I dont rate him as much as I did in 2003. Thats the fact. Had he left by 2003 I would have missed him. Now I wont. Hard as it may sound thats true too. SRT has diluted his own legacy. xxx
Ranvir Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Re: Tips from Sunny/Kapil fans I can't remember a test match that Tendulkar has ever won for India. Can anyone else?
yoda Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Re: Tips from Sunny/Kapil fans What is there to feel sad when someone retires? If they are past expiry date, isn't that good news? Memories of their performances are always on tape/dvd for instant review.
