You seriously think RD Burman would not thank Kishore Kumar when the former would win the award?? The famed, and unique, music director Khayyam still thanks Asha Bhonsle for the National Award he won for Umrao Jaan. This is not to suggest that ARR did anything on purpose but yes it is always a nice thing to hear an awardee thank his team. On the other hand Gulzar has been completely dismissive of the award and has openly said this is an award for ARR and he and Sukhwinder merely tagged along...class act in my opinion. As for the point that nobody listens to the lyrics I beg to differ. The first time I listened to Jai Ho it caught my attention because of lyrics. ARR's music always takes time to grow, atleast on me, and I remember discussing this same topic a month or so ago. Jai Ho has some beautiful lyrics and in a weird way it is a shame that the music actually takes away from the wordings. Zarilwaale aasman ke tale, how many lyricist can write that today?? And how many listeners can understand it? Incidentally Sukhwinder Singh is also on record saying how the two words - Zarilwaale Aasman - simply blew him away. So :finger: to you. and if you had read/heard his interview about the saga and how it was made difficult due to scheduling/visa/procedural issues, you wouldn't have made such a stupid comment about one of India's finest, but that's probably too much for your punjabi focussed brain. and btw, he is supposed to be one of the most modest guys, especially given his level of achievement, not that it will make much difference to you.

ARR himself said in an interview that is was a goof up and he will talk to Sukwinder when he gets back. Apparently there were many people involved in setting the whole thing up and someone botched something obviously, intentionally or un-intentionally.
