Willow_on_fire Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Left out of the Slumdog crew at Oscars by AR. Rahman on purpose, may be AR wanted to hog the lime-light alone, singing the song on the stage by himself...hmmm just seems not right, after all some credit should go to the singer.

He would never do anything bad to him. also, at same time, i can't believe how no one mentioned name of Sukhwinder at Oscars. I mean he deserved some mention after singing the song which became the real theme of the movie
coffee_rules Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 The award in this category is given to the composition or the lyrics. I think Gulzar was mentioed for the 'song of the year'. Rahman could have thanked the singer, but fault him for the commotion the award announcement causes.

Do you really think western people understood the bloody lyrics and how good is/was (overall/in the movie) Sukhvinder Singh ? People have praised only the music part of the album, damn them for not understanding hindi/urdu. MIA Paper Planes' song was not even mentioned during the album release despite it being an english song. Sure, AR could have mentioned Sukhvinder Singh's name but judging from his personality that guy gets nervous when he is asked to say few words about himself, let alone some one else. Did you see the way he ran away from the podium when he was presented with the award on the second occasion ?

I was going to state that but hesitated. Nothing against you (Willow) but (from what I have noticed) you tend to like/favor people because they're punjabi. Don't take it to heart mate. AR Rahman got golden globe as well and performed at Jay Leno and what not, he had his days of Broadway for Christ sake So are we Indians here? or has to be a Punjabi winner to have its stamp of approval In any case, I don't even buy the " Fox screwing up performance visa " BS, it must be something else ( many involved in fraud visa thing )

Also I made a thread condemning that pedophile Maninder Singh Pandher....I'm not biased. I just had this doubt, read my topic, I'm not claiming ARR has done it on purpose....besides there is no solid proof about why his visa was denied...it does raise doubts. about my image on ICF, I shoot straight, no holding back...my biggest weakness is I don't make posts to keep mods & site owners happy or indulge in any chamchagiri...I think you are just getting too senti...take it easy....cheers
