Well... the last time i was there I could hardly find shopkeepers who spoke good Telugu. Guess that is the bane of metropolisia.

It depends on the area flamy. Where I lived, everyone spoke Telugu, whether it was with an accent or not. If you went closer to Abids and Koti, and to the Secunderabad Railway station, you'd have to converse with the autodriver in hindi because their telugu isn't all that great. But its never that they don't understand it though.

Mandhantha Rayalaseema bava :ridinghorse: As I said, it's the same with Kannada and B'lore. Metropolisia.

Only the yearly visit to grandparents is all I can vouch for. I don't understand the politics of Telangana and Rayalseema and why they don't like each other (apparently). But ya, Rayalseema rox. :--D (maybe closet factionist?)

Thats not true at all. Just a bunch of politicians saying that Telangana was ignored and it is not progressing at the same rate that Rayalseema and Coastal Andhra is - which is completely untrue because Hyderabad is at the heart of Telangana. I hope the split doesn't happen at all.

:protest: we want separate telangana :protest: on a serious note......a separate telangana doesn't make any sense and I am sure many pure(:P) telangana people would oppose it than support it.(atleast the thinking ones as opposed to the emotionally driven ones)

Yeah, it absolutely doesn't, its in the center of AP. So assuming a split, the AP govt. could hike the import and export taxes from Telangana to outside states so much that we could bankrupt their govt. very easily.

some of the posts here could really be used in the teach me thread - you guys sound from a different country now
I won't really blame you. Even I learnt about Vidarbha only after going to Nagpur.:--D

Nagpur wut? :hmmmm2:
Nagpur and some other areas want separate vidarbha region from Maharashtra. Same reasons like Telangana being neglected, not much development compared to other regions. But I guess it is not as active as Telangana movement.
