gs Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Why not name it after Sandeep Unnikrishnan - the commando who sacrificed his life trying to save Mumbai in 26/11 attacks? MC BC Gandhi - Nehru family
King Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 The sea looks pretty rough. Is that Indian ocean? Why do you need to pay to use the bridge? Is that private owned or put together out of tax payer's money?
DomainK Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 The sea looks pretty rough. Is that Indian ocean? Why do you need to pay to use the bridge? Is that private owned or put together out of tax payer's money? Its the Arabian sea- part of the Indian ocean. It's usually a bit rough at this time of the year. Such bridges are quite expensive to make and the toll is a sort of tax paid by only those who use the road. They will collect the tolls till the money has been recovered. After that the toll amount will be reduced to collect money for the maintenance of the road.
Holysmoke Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 After going on the sea link more than 15 times in the last 5 days, I went on it today morning and paid toll for the first time. It was very very smooth today, all the timepass people taking u-turns on the flyover had disappeared and cars were going easily at 80 on the flyover. But I guess the real test will be going from bandra to worli tonight.. at peak hours .
