fineleg Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Meiporul (also spelt as Meipporul) is a thriller entirely made in the US by NRI software engineers. Of the myriad thrillers that we have today, Meiporul (whose script took six months to complete) stands out and looks very promising. Produced by Natty Kumar, Krish Bala, and a team of software engineers, Meiporul has all the elements that appeal to urbane cinemagoers. The background score, which is one of the USPs of this film, has been scored by John Mazzei, a popular Hollywood music composer who has scored myriad pop albums and television serials. The fact that famous Kollywood editor Lenin readily agreed to work in this film serves as a quality certificate; this editor never signs a film if he is not satisfied with the film’s script and worthiness. The veteran editor has done myriad films, all of which have done well. Songs have been composed by the trio of Aub Delane, Rahul and Nanda. Meiporul’s audio has been doing very well since its release. ‘Get away day’, ‘Kalyana kaviyam’, and ‘Minnum minnum’ have become everyone’s favourites. The film speaks about Sam, a successful neurosurgeon, who leads a happy life until his wife Devi brings in some new friends in their life, which causes many chaotic events, leading to mistrust and doubts. Sam loses his balance when his emotions are disturbed to their limits. Rendered too rational by his academics but at the same time affected by his obsessive love for his wife, he is unable to understand what is going on. Is he becoming paranoid? Or are his friends trying to betray him for real? You are the one who badly wants to know the truth, even more than him! That is the power of the screenplay of this film. This is an intense and gripping tale which will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the film. RELEASE DATE: April 24, 2009 Contact: dreamsonframes _AT_ gmail.com
graphic23 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Hello, "meipporul" means, TRUE MEANING. And the word should be spelled "Yedhi Nijam" in the title.
f.b.m Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Doesnt Yedhi Nijam mean "whats the truth" in telugu? btw, the trailer looks like its full of fail. Is this an amateur film or something? Someone you know whiney?
triam Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Have seen enough of this NRI films, I dont think it is viable for them to compete against real prodcers when it comes to moolah and hence the production values suffer immensely. If they want to make a mark they should stick to artsy movies rather than compete with commercial ones.
fineleg Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 fbm, No one I know personally in the movie. I got to hear about it from one friend.

As I said, I dont have any connections with people in the movie. If it is a fail movie, then so be it. Maybe the reviews on the web are all doctored. I dont know about that. Hope at least Atul Sharma turns out better in that case (given all the hype)! :P
goodmoviesbuff Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I agree that the trailer did not present a high production value. But, I have read the preview article in Thendral online tamilonline.com and have heard from cinema circles in Chennai that this might be a sleeper movie just like subramanyapuram and vennila kabadi kuzhu which also had new faces and minimal production values. In fact, for those of you who follow kuruviyar (tamil cinema q and a) from daily thanthi, he predicted this as one of the possible hits along the lines of subramanyapuram. Guys, I think we should reserve judgement until we see the movie! I am curious to see as to what the buzz is all about and what a tamizh movie completely made by engineers in the US will be like!
fineleg Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 why is this in jokes lol :D Was this in Jokes? If it was, then EMC must have been drunk or something. This should be in Chit chat as it is now.

Wish I could get that time back, it was god awful
Ranga Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I watched this movie "Meipporul" yesterday at San Jose. This is one great movie that just changes the Tamil movie industry trend in a very positive way. It's a brilliant movie with a great story. This is just not the usual NRI type movies which are boring with immigration/green card/others or art film types. It's a suspense thriller that keeps the audience in the edge of their seats. The camera takes you in to San Francisco area with excellent presentation and views that are typical of hollywood movies. I watched it with some friends and also with some kids. Every one of us enjoyed this and none of us could guess the climax. This proves that those typical Tamil producers/directors can no way reach up to the brains of silicon valley professionals. Shame on Tamil audience for applauding/encouraging those dumb stupid Tamil movies just because some famous hero appears. Tamil folks need to step up and start appreciating class movies like this. Everyone that I spoke to was thrilled that there's finally one good Tamil movie after so long. All the kids (aged 3-13) were not bored and saw the movie without taking their eyes off. I would not take my kid to a tamil movie because of violence or obscene scenes. This movie had neither or them and now I know how it got a "U" certificate.
satishg Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 ^^ 1st post. :hmmm: lol yea kinda fishy rite..looks like someone is in ICF promoting this movie rofl :D
