Lurker Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I mean WTF do we have to do with LTTE . There are two definition of WE here: a) We as Indians have a humanitarian interest in the region. These days, actually pretty much last 3-4 decades, anytime a regional state is destablized their citizens take flight to India. You can pick examples ranging from Sri Lanka to Bangladesh to Nepal..even Tibet although Tibet really should not fall in this bracket. b) We is strictly Tamil populace. Not sure if a Bihari (say Laloo Yadav) or Oriya (Naveen Patnaik) is raising any hue and cry about this. I wish I could say the utterance is basically an election strategy, the fact is it is lot deeper than that. In India we have this real danger of clanship these days. Every ethnicity, ranging from Tamil to Gujjus, is getting more self-involved. I see it every day in IT where over 2/3 of Indians come from South India and over 1/2 of them are total cr@p. The only reason why many of these have broken through is clanship. In retrospect this is hurting even the South Indians since the qualified ones are getting their visas rejected, waiting in line forever for their Green Cards etc etc. All because so many folks have made it to US purely because where they were born(specially for Tamilians and Andhra population). Sri Lanka issue is no different. There is an attachment due to "T" word. I could have had some sympathy to LTTE and the likes since some of their grievances is definitely genuine but ever since they attacked Rajeev Gandhi my theory is that pretty much they can go eff themselves. xxx

Accomodating for what??? As an IT guy I can assure you that given a chance most Indians IT folks pick Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore, heck even Pune ahead of Chennai when it comes to placement. Not talking of Tamil Nadu folks obviously. The towns I mentioned are all cosmopolitan in nature and dont suffer from the language syndrome as much as Chennai does. None of my batchmates who made in IT (over 100 of them) picked Chennai. They did not have any qualm picking Hyderabad(I picked Mumbai just for records) or even Trivandrum. And this is an example of an English speaking crowd. Considering English is spoken by 2-5% of Indians, depending on which census you read, you can guess the impact on non-English speakers. An example I could give you is many folks in my part of India have read/heard/want to visit Madurai because of its history but have never even thought of visiting there for lack of the language. So Tamilians wont venture outside Tamil Nadu, unless its an English speaking area, and non-Tamil speakers wont venture inside Tamil Nadu. How is that good for TN and India??? xxx

Repeat after me, All south Indians are not Tamilians. All south Indians are not Madraasis. South India has 5 states which are AP, Karnataka, Kerala, TN and Goa. All south Indians dont support LTTE.

I agree Indians should know how to differentiate between a Tamil and Mallu. But they should equally be able to differentiate between Assamiya and a Arunachali too.

Everytime a pakistani throws LTTE in my face I get embarrassed.. Rajeev gandhi created LTTE and then later on tried to dump them so I am not really wasting even a drop of tear on why ltte eliminated rajeev gandhi.. your franskstein you deal with it simple.. It's a shame , mind you srilanakns govt got military aid from pakistan for eliminating ltte and you can;t fault them. Our home minister says srilanakn govt is to blame for this fiasco..These guys are confused on one hand ltte is declared terrorist organization otoh they are trying to save prabahakran......... Fact is Lanka gov has fixed the constitutional partiality long back these ltte mofos now are like mafia want to control some part even when the issue is long gone.....LTTE has also eliminated all the democratic leaders from tamil community .. We have no business telling Lanka how to act sagainst these terrorists.. I am happy over this development within a week or so there will be no ltte left. India better start acting like a country these UPA idiots don;t understand one thing We already have bangaldesh china and and pakistan as hostile neighbours.. recently thanks to UPA's hobnobbing with communazis now we have Nepal as another hostile nation.. The way tyey are goign and the way srilnaka govt is getting military aid from pakistani to fix ltte we will have hostile neighbors on all sides......

It appears to many there are only 2 India - South and North. Now if you did not include Bihar, and UP and the area, in your definition of North India then I could still be fine with it. But if you did lump Bihar in your definition then the joke is on you. Turns out most Biharis and UPites know more about India than most South Indians on this MB. Not joking just look around. xxx

If it makes you happy Biharis are not North Indian but actually Viharis named and a corruption of the famous Buddhist Viharas which of course identifies with Lumbini which is in present day Nepal.
