King Tendulkar Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 His a great young bowler, with a great prospect. Gets good bounce due to height and is accurate and has a great heart. For the record I state I am a fan. However, I am concerned about his speeds. You can still be a great bowler without great speed. However I would love him to bowl at near 90 mph regularly with the odd ball going over 90 mph. However, watching him in NZ and in 20/20 he is consistently bowling at just above 80 mph. I admit to being dissapointed and am concerned we dont have the superstar pacer i thought we were getting. He is of course young and hopefully will build up speed over coming years. He will probaably peak in terms of speed in 4 or 5 years time. So lets monitor his speeds to see how he does. Anyone else concerned?
gaurav92 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 he bowled a 144.3 ks bouncer to pakistans feared player ahmed shehzad he was furious
gaurav92 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 i last saw him bowl a 145+ was in aus odi series at sydney or somewhere there /////////////// since then the pace has come down to a certain extent...may be he ll increase again when we visit aussies again in 2011
tusha_manek00 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 His best recorded speed is 152.2 against Oz in Sydney.Once Venketash prasad took over,it came down to 135.Prasad'd primary target is to reduce the speed of fast bowlers and convert them to into trundlers like him
vipin Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Lee is the speediest bowler playing in this T20 and probably also the most expensive. Ishant was consistebtly clocking 140 in the test series in new zealand. he has played IPL and has plenty of T20 expereince. Does that ring a bell ?

Guest gaurav_indian Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 :dito: couldnt have put it any better ... bloody prasad :hitler: salla khud toh 1km se bhaag ke aata tha aur leg spin karwaata tha aur ab new bowlers ko bhi apne jaisa bana daalega.Jab tak inka career khatam hoga tab tak Ishant Sharma ka naam khoonkhaar aur khatarnaak off spinners mein aayega.:hitler: :hitler:

hassan_113 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Ishant looked sharp in Pak warm-up on a pitch tailor-made for him....If true about Prasad- what a joker! Aqib Javed, another medium pacer, did bloody same.
gaurav92 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 ishy will bowl a slow ball that ll be even slower than what murali will bowl on a rank turner with a run up of shoaib actor
Ram Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 He hardly crosses the 140s these days. Definite cause for concern. Btw, is it only me or anyone else here who think that his run-up seems to have become more bouncy than it was.
King Tendulkar Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 I admit to being worried. For gods sake when are we going to get that 90mph+ speedster who scares the living daylights out of the oppo. People should show more respect to sree. As possibly he is our quickets bowler.
vipin Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 He bowled a bouncer @ 142 yesterday. He intentionally keeps his pace down in T20s.
vvvslaxman Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I admit to being worried. For gods sake when are we going to get that 90mph+ speedster who scares the living daylights out of the oppo. People should show more respect to sree. As possibly he is our quickets bowler. 90 mph bowlers are not scaring anyone because pitcehs has got too flat. Waqar/Akram were deadly because they had other skills going for them. If they bowled like VRV singh straight and fast they would have been cannon fodders as well.
King Tendulkar Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 Top speed reached was 85 mph today. Compare that to young paki who clocked over 90 mph at times and both windies bowlers who clocked at 90 mph at times. Even Zaheer got a few in late 80s. Worried about Ishant!
Guest gaurav_indian Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 :wall: dont be like pakis only they care about speeds.Wickets matters not speed. :wall: speed ka kya achaar daalna hai
King Tendulkar Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 But a top speed of only 85 mph. Its not like he had to consereve himself for long spell. He was bowling flat out and bowled many just over 80mph
Guest gaurav_indian Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Even Afridi bowled at 130 kph in the last match and look at praveen kumar shakal toh aisi bana ke aata hai jaise 500 wickets liye huey hai international cricket mein.:hysterical:
