Isnt it pathetci that you are calling a dead man a Pussy ? Show some respect' date=' you cant even imagine what he must have felt before he did this.[/quote'] sorry as i said b4.. i dont have respect for such people.. I quote morris here..
Whatever the reasons be, anyone who commits suicide leaving his loved ones high and dry IS a coward, full stop Who doesn’t have trouble in their life? Who does not have issues to deal with? You just take knocks on your chin and get on with it. Ending your life is a choice only cowards make.

he wasnt stupid?? comeon.. i know depression is a b.itch.. but u cant use this argument to claim a life.. and i also know wat depression cud do to oneself.. i have been with one.. though i have some sympathy for people who are under depression.. but i do think they r the ones to b blamed for being in depression..for putting oneself in a disappointed position more often.. for having unrealistic expectations which they might not meet or they dont get... so why dint he consult anyone.. hes not living in africa for not being aware of such terms like depression, burnout yada yada.... people in western europe live a very sophisticated life.. they take off frm work when they r burn out.. nevermind i still dont know wat exactly is burn out.. cant imagine those things.. if they cant put some sense into their life, then wats the point of living.. as i said its not about driving an expensive car, having a big house, having babes around u.. i agree most of us wud like to have such a life.. but its utter stupidity to end a life jus cuz he cudnt hava dream life.. dont u agree?? but sorry to tell u he has a peanut size brain.. i dont give a sh!t to the fact how smart he was in his business or studies, how many awards he has won.. if he doesnt have a bit of common sense.. everything else goes to trash..

My heart goes out to people who have major emotional issues to deal with. If this story had been something along the lines of ‘Depressed stock-broker seeks help’ or something like that, I would have showed all my support for this guy, coz I understand things can get difficult sometimes. But I am sorry, ending your life for it? Not good enough for me. I will always sympathize with people who have issues to deal with, but I don’t have too much time for people who give-up the fight halfway.
MM, people get depressed due to many reasons and sometimes they dont seek help since they dont realize that they have a problem. Read zubin's post and you'll see the stigma attached with depression. Sometimes its a panic attack , it happens in seconds and its over in minutes but it can change or end one's life. I dont know what happened with him but I know that no man with a sound brain will ever kill himself.

In some parts of the world, people live in war-zones, have their houses bombed, their mothers and sisters raped, their limbs cut off in landmine blasts, their houses destroyed in missile attacks. Elsewhere, people don’t have food, shelter or clothing. Their children starve to death right in front of them or die of disease without proper access to medical facilities. This guy should have a realized how lucky he was, to have had the life he had. Just the mere excuse of ‘you don’t know what he’s going through, so stop criticizing him’ wont work for me. Above all, how can any son/daughter end their life, knowing the kind of distress it will cause to his parents? His mother will probably spend the rest of her lifetime wallowing in tears.

Desi man, I already mentioned this in this thread - I have LOTS of time and sympathy for distressed people. I can understand their plight. But I wont ever defend someone who decided to give up the fight midway. If that were the case, half the world’s population would have been dead by now.

i suppose to the naked eye we dont always associate mental health conditions and depression with success thats probably the reason i personally find it hard to accept he had valid reasons for taking his life. What i can accept however is that state mind can differ from person to person and bottom line is its state of mind that leads people to take such actions. Mr Cartman u have a very valid point - Mental Health issues? its should have been picked up by atleast his employers and addressed by an occupational therapist No mental health issues? the guys an idiot!

only a small percentage of people suffer from depression out of which few have severe depression and out of which only some attempt suicide and out of which only very few succeed. I understand that suicide is not the right thing to do and the only thing which stopped me from doing it was my near and dear ones so I agree with you but since I have seen it from so close, I understand why some people end up doing it though. I had a colleague and his father took his own life after fighting with depression for 15 years and I maybe against suicide and all but I can tell u that had I suffered for 15 years from depression maybe I would have done the same.

can we atleast agree that suicide is more of a reaction to the ability (or lack of) in dealing with circumstances not necessarily the circumstances itself Mr Cartman u also mentioned that individuals with mental health conditions often dont realise they have it! asphurgas syndrome is a perfect example of that!

And obviously when it doesn't work for you, he gets classified as a coward. Brilliant logic there. What else can one expect from someone who thinks a veteran who died in poverty probably spent all his money away? Brilliant stuff.

Most suicides are split second decisions. Very rarely one actually takes days thinking and decides that there are other ways. Someone gets into a serious depression, and takes a knee jerk decision to jump/hang....die. May be he realized his mistake the moment he jumped. May be he did not order that suit and champagne intending to die. May be he put the suit on, had the glass in his hand, looked down, height attracted in a weak moment and he gave in. We actually do not know what he was going through. May be there was a problem other than the job. We actually do not know. Its sad.

What else can one expect from someone who thinks a veteran who died in poverty probably spent all his money away? Brilliant stuff.[/quote'] Huh? What doesn’t work for me? You have completely lost me here. I need you to CLEARLY contest these statements I am making here; Statement 1: Someone who shies away from handling the tough issues of his life and decides to take his own life, knowing that his decision will cause immense distress to his loved ones IS a coward. Statement 2: People constantly fight immense distress in their life, some more serious than other. Yet, they keep rallying and impose faith on themselves to come through. Statement 3: If someone dies in abject poverty, not even having enough money to ensure his funereal, it is not just because the state did not look after him well, but mostly because he made a lot of rash financial decisions in his youth/middle age and failed to act responsibly. Statement 4: A vast majority of people who die bankrupt do so NOT because they did get have adequate opportunities to fend for themselves or earn a decent living, but because of a combination of character flaws (a lot of bad habits/addiction, other weaknesses) Statement 5: There are probably 1000s of other war veteran who served in the army and received (or denied, whichever way you look at it), the same amount of benefit from the state. And they did not die in abject poverty. How is that?

He led a high life, lost his job, couldn't face the humiliation, so ended his life. While one would think it is better to fight and face the music instead of ending it all, I feel that any person should be allowed to end their lives whenever they want to. It is your life after all, you don't want to live for whatever reason, bye bye! Ofc, if you have people depending on you, it would be advisable to make sure that they are taken care of before you take off, otherwise, no big deal. Anyways, RIP!

I kind of agree with your post in principle but the word "dependency" has many caveats - it need not be just financial but emotional as well - and there would be very few people in the world who do not have someone emotionally dependent on them.

I think probably he was guilty of some wrong doings for his company or something. He thought they will find out and he will be embarrased and most likely will never get a job. That could be the reason

BTW Should assisted suicide be allowed according to you ? I often listen to old people on the radio begging to have this right. Some say they have been in pain 24/7 for more than 10 years and now cant even move but the govt wont let them die. Some even go to Mexico and bring the drug into Aus to commit suicide. Do you think it Should assisted suicide be allowed ?
