Ravi, I deserve a few ICF dollars for lifting the readership of the site. It's obvious that these rats were reading the thread in droves, fuming with fury at the home truths being rammed down their furry throats but didn't have the courage to come out and face the music. The moment their side has fluked a day of good cricket, they have emerged from the shadows and are swarming all over the place, trying to spread the plague that shrouds their own bills and burrows. Hardly. The fact that they've collapsed again today just shows that the days with their really good/outstanding performances are more an aberration or part of their usual cycle of inconsistencies, but hardly representative performances or indicative of a quality team. One day they play with a fire up their arses, the next they're back to being gutless wonders.

CI writing is literally like paint by numbers stuff. Lazy, boring writing with the same handful of adjectives and verbs every piece. Writing about Pakistan? Watch the words enigmatic, mercurial, inconsistent, etc show up right away in the title. Pietersen? Everything is 'outrageous, explosive, dominant, thrilling', just as any knock from Tendulkar these days is calculating or crafty. Just be glad that Dileep Premachandran isn't around to tell us about every coruscating drive and coruscating cut of Sehwag's!

They must be scratching their head and wondering what they can do about this. Forget the famous "English collapse", Pakistan now has patented it. How can a team collapse this badly 3 times in a row? Barring couple of batsmen the rest of the scores sound like a phone number. Perhaps you can put it like one of the Sri Lankan mate said, "Sri Lankans usually are good under pressure, Pakistan is pants under pressure". They need psychological help to get a bit tougher mentally like Ijaz Ahmed said. They can't play under pressure.

But where was the pressure when the collapse started? They were in full control. It was Lanka who was under pressure. It all started with that foolish shot from YK and they created their own pressure out of nothing.

Another 100 runs they could have closed the game. Just when they started to look fine they squandered the opportunity. How can you explain 21 runs from 8 batsmen? That's an average of under 3 per batsman :omg:

Meanwhile 5 days of cricket in the Ashes produced a spectacular finish and ended in a draw... go figure.
