Pakistan Is A Team of Glorious Uncertainties

I am dumbfounded guys. I can hardly believe what's going on. Thal, I was trying to be fair to Monga, and indeed to Pakistan. Every side deserves praise for a fightback, and a stirring fighback it was until the inexplicable happened. They had the opportunity to do what hadn't been done in over a hundred years. I am just flabbergasted, because I have never ever seen three back to back collapses like this from a Test team with decent batsmen in it. Do you guys think there is a scientific explanation for 285 for 1 to 330 all out? The rats above, sorry fans, have had a go at me for tarnishing their precious team, but I genuinely feel sorry for them. This must be terrible to live through.

Monga is an overrated journalist who usually calls things based purely on their last match. Pakistan plays well one day? Lots of hype and praise about what a fine team they are. A bad showing the next day - bring out the brickbats. No consistency whatsoever, just whatever gets headlines. As for Pakistan, as I've said before - they're a wildly inconsistent, frequently mediocre team capable of some great sessions and days of cricket. When they click they can beat anyone, but the rest of the time they're a generally average team that requires flat tracks or even more mediocre opposition to be competitive over the course of a test or series.

Sorry for them? They'll probably have their blinkers on as usual and be blaming umpires, selectors or various boards or schedules, or better yet going back to their old adage of 'Pakistan are so inconsistent, this is why we love watching them, they're exciting!' Save the sympathy for the folks who deserve it, like the poor West Indian fans who're getting the worst of a board that doesn't care about its cricket and won't pay its players, and teams that are either led by apathetic overrated players with no regard for their teammates or simply lack the talent to be good enough at the top level.

Sanga is looking quite good at the moment. I don't reckon there will be yet another twist in this test match and SL will take it hands down. Just about 79 runs to win. Wonder how will Younis Khan explain the way things have gone so far in the series. If I were a Pakistani fan the only way to keep in touch will probably on cricinfo after a day's play. Otherwise it can give a lot of heart burn.

lol...Never ever count Pakistan out of any match. We are the best fighting cricket team out there' date= flamboyant cricketers, the most unpredictable and that what makes us the most exciting team to follow. Had there been any other team, minnows like NZ or India, they would have been bundled out by now and had lost it by an inning. .... Got a good feeling we will win this one
Yes, yes of course you are. Now then, when are you visiting us again? We wish to pay no holds bar homage to your "best fighting team out there.":haha:

Pakistans Overseas Record As abysmal as it has been -- against top teams -- they always had one thing to talk about -- running around naked -- shouting -- how they have a great record against SL in SL. "We beat SL in SL which in you have not done, Aus hasnt done, RSA hasnt done" They have just added another feather to that overseas record hat. I can feel their pain -- considering India's wasn't very good till not so long ago.

Seriously, from being in a winning position in the first test to losing the series... that's shocking. Last month they celebrated the victory and this month have hit rock bottom. No Murali, Malinga or Vaas.... that is below average cricket from Pakistan but don't forget to laud the Lankans, they were a way better team.

Ravi, there is really no way a sane person can rationalise this. This is the same pitch on which they had just had a 285 run opening stand, scoring at 4 per over throughout most of the morning. Pitch flat as Brooke Shield's breasts, Mendis in shocking form-watch him get dropped as Murali returns next match- it was really just fill the socks time. What does their captain do? With the world at his feet, he tries to play a dinky little reverse sweep. Every Pakistani batsman sitting in the pavilion swallows hard, look at each other and avert their eyes as the whites turn a dirty yellow and the place reeks of you know...the yellow stuff. Mass diarrhoea breaks out, change nappies, put on guard, come back in a minute and have a lie down for the next two days. Man! And these guys actually have fans?

Their batting has been crap as long as I can remember. After Inzi's retirement they have lost a very reliable batsman that used to score heavily in sub continent. For too long they relied on the likes of Afridi, Shoaib Malik and the likes that are hardly test quality cricketers. Their opening combination changes quicker than Obama's attire. Their bowling looked up a little but don't reckon they are world class as yet to lift the team every time. They have a decent ODI team and they would rather be better off working on their ODI skills for now. Younis Khan thinks it's the lack of test match cricket that has hurt them and with their test cricket scheduled to be played in England they are going to have a very tough time to cope. Their fans are in for a rough ride.

I barely see people mentioning any Indian forum on Pakistani forums.

Younis & MoYo combo is better than Sanga & Jaya. Akmal & Misbah are better bats on paper than most of the game triers Lankans have got. Yet, this team lacks some thing the past Pakistani teams had -- the ability to fight back with its backs to the wall. Infact when the test runs close, I'd have put my money on past Pakistani teams to somehow put it past their opponents (as they showed in Bangalore'05, Karachi'06, Colombo'06). This team lacks such a quality. During the days of Inzy, both Younis & MoYo were in the form of their lives and with Inzy they formed the pillars of Pakistani batting. The presence of these performing senior players also enhanced the utility of other role players. Today Pakistani senior players are in indifferent form & are unable to inspire match winning performances from its lesser players. World champs in T20 are paupers in test cricket. The contrast between the two formats couldnt be more obvious.

I was bit worried reading this thread thinking this will help Pakistan. Then this post explains why Dhondy posted such a thing.

I take my hats off to Pakistani fans. They have enormous capacity for punishment. To waste days, months and years discussing this drivel, to give up their day jobs and become "jounalists", asking mega-irritating questions in pigeon English at press conferences, to deliver commentary in a squeaky, hair-raisingly infantile voice that sets blood pressures soaring, you have to have an almost indefatiguable optimism, or an almost inhuman level of self delusion, ignoring reality looking at you flush in the face and smashing your nose to a pancake. Glorious. Let's sit back and applaud their well rounded record of being whitewashed by all comers. At this rate, there will be so many coats that a polar explorer would look positively skimpily dressed in comparison.
:laugh::laugh: Do you think Pakistan cricket will be buried like a Muslim? Has Kulasekhara converted to Islam? Were the balls used in the match halaal?

Napak_forever, Dhondy has been immensely and ably , suitably and hilariously supported by the highly talented, and so-called unpredictable Pakii Team. So much for being unpredictable, that he could predict their diaper changes and diaper Rashes as well and time to produce some yellow stuff. :haha: Best fighting cricket team? can't even last three days and best fighting cricket team, do you even understand the english words, or you cut n paste from cricinfo????? Oh the glorious uncertainties [not with the cricket team, but with their fans] eh ? :haha: :haha:

We missed Akhtar's b00bs and Afridi's b@llls bro Fawad Alam must have opened the bowling as well bro Holy Christ, a Lankan B team inflicts this much pain & that too without Murali. Imagine whats in store when they play Australia ?
