Who have been the greatest freaks in cricket ? Those ultra talented cricketers who make the best of their peers look woefully inadequate and turn the match on its head in the space of quick toilet break - and are ASTONISHING to watch when in full flow From the time that I have watched cricket: Wasim Akram Shane Warne Adam Gilchrist Veeru Sehwag

Sachin Tendulkar is the first name that comes to my mind. The names you have listed are definitely there as well.
Probably Sachin Tendulkar of the 96-98 years. Post 99 WC, he has been a meticulous accumalator of runs. not someone who can mercilessly destroy the opposition and turn matches from positions that seem impossible.

Acutally Chuckhtar too..when he wakes up from the right side of the bed is a freak from hell. His 5W spell (in a span of just 2 overs) against Aussies in 2002 in a test match that was played in Colombo is the most lethal extremepace/reverse swing combo Ive ever seen.

Now, don't break down a career and chose the part that suits you. There was a time that Viru looked quite useless playing horrendous shots getting out looking worse than Afridi. Dont forget that it was not too long ago that Tendulkar destroyed Australia in Australia single handedly in consecutive matches. Tendulkar is a matured cricketer that does what is best suited for the team and the situation. That does not mean that he is incapable of destruction at will.

Yeah, chukhtar sure is. He can break down in the middle of any match leaving his captain crippled with one bowler short turning match on its head making it impossible for his captain to win. Yes, he can turn a match around in a moment.

Do you even know the meaning of " freak" ? What the 35 yr old Adam Gilchrist did to Lanka in the 2007 WC finals in the space of half an hour of the match - is what you call a freak. Viv Richards in an era where 200 was a par score , had a strike rate of over 90 at an avg of almost 48 - BOTH FAR SUPERIOR than what SRT has even in an era were 300 is common score.
