Airtel CLT20 set to be True Tournament of Champions The inaugural Airtel Champions League Twenty20 is set to be the True Tournament of Champions following the naming of the preliminary squads. Of the 234 players nominated by the 12 teams, 110 (more than 47%) have already played international cricket for their respective countries. If all of these players then go on to be included in their team's respective starting XIs for the tournament from October 8-23, then more than 80% of players taking the field at the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 will have played international cricket. Illustrating the quality of the world-class squads that have been named, New South Wales Blues and the Delhi Daredevils will each be capable of playing a team wholly comprising of international players. Wayamba, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Victorian Bushrangers meanwhile have 10 internationals each in their ranks. The other teams have equally impressive line-ups. Trinidad & Tobago and Sussex feature nine players with international experience, while the Cape Cobras and Deccan Chargers have eight, Otago has seven and the Diamond Eagles and Somerset have four apiece.

Laxman is world-class in any format: Gilchrist Adam Gilchrist, the former Australian great who led Deccan Chargers to victory in the second edition of Indian Premier League in South Africa, asserts that V.V.S. Laxman is very much part of the scheme of things in the Champions League Twenty20 competition starting from October 8.

well such games rarely see in a millineum that is what makes cricket the good of all the games Cricket, one of the best sports any can play, where eleven fielders and two batsmen stand on a field trying to show how they are better than the other. This was definitely not the case at one of the best cricket matches I have ever been to.

Not sure :--D I went through the match playing conditions in their website but couldn't see anything mentioned about the number of foreign players in a team.

Champions League T20 Shaggy, Jamelia, Chaka Khan and others to kick off CLT20. The local mixes with the international at the opening ceremony of the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 competition in Bangalore's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 8. The tournament boasts some of the hottest domestic clubs from around the cricketing world and the event to mark their introduction is every bit as sizzling.

This will be a real cracker of a tournament. I am looking forward to this one. Some great teams there. Delhi would miss services of Daniel Vettori
..and AB de villiers. Even Collingwood's appearance looks 50-50 atm.

I was backing Delhi to win the 1st edition of CL but injuries to key players is a cause for concern. We still don't know how match fit is Veeru! :nervous:
