Lol honestly some of you will do anything to have a go at Ponting wont you.. Tendulkar retires from 20/20 he's a great bloke, giving the youngsters a go. Ponting retires from 20/20 he's a selfish git. If he was a selfish git, he'd play 20/20 earn loads of money and not really care about how he performs.

FYI Ponting would still IPL.Now dont get back n say even SRT is doing that.he is an Indian player n is an icon player n has practically no choice

The biggest surprise is why has ponting retired from int'l t20s when Aus dont playa t20 for the next 4-5 months! To me it looks like a sane decision by reading clearly the writing on the wall. Remember the Aussie selectors had , after the recent t20 WC, said that they will at totally new set of t20 specialists for the next t20 WC. I am sure ponting isnt a 't20 specialist' As selectors had in their mind.

Ponting is a traditionalist and he loves test cricket.. He has given up T20 so that he can concentrate more on Tests ... Hope he goes well

I was responding to the reason for the vitriol that Ponting gets here. The 'selfish' part was from the sachin fan in me. Aussies seem to be claiming they don't play for numbers, like Subcontinent players, but exactly do it for the same reason. When did SRT/Dravid ever say they they is in the game for the sake of a record?

I strongly suspect our new friend is not Indian as he claims. I was asking him indirectly if he is Australian. I have followed the game seriously since the early 90s.

It's irrelevant whether a member here is Indian or Australian or Pakistani. What's more relevant is whether a poster here is an intelligent sort who can contribute and add to the forums (iHammad) or a stupid troll out here to try and stir up nonsense with one foot in his mouth and the other up his ass.
