ludhianvi
With the spinners on and bowling short and wide, the area behind square was simply not covered at all by Dhoni. At times like this, I wonder what the think tank is doing sitting there having coffee and donuts. If a noob like me can get these stats off cricinfo, what's the think tank there for? Link to comment
Celeste
Captain can only set fields. Its up to the bowlers to bowl at right field. Link to comment
Sooda
No 3rd man for aaagesss Link to comment
Guest gaurav_indian
Strange you are not blaming bowlers for bowling pathetic line and length. Link to comment
Sachinism
You can't leave an open gap at short 3rd man for singles. The bowlers shouldn't be giving the width required to put the ball in those areas for boundaries. If they take a ball from the stumps and put it there then credit to the batsman Link to comment
ludhianvi
But a captain is suppose to adapt and set the field accordingly. The spinners are bowling short and off so close that area already. The floodgates have been open in that region again and again. Moyo is a class act with cutting and it should be pretty common knowledge. Link to comment
donkey
How could blame dhoni when, bowlers like RP have got no swing, no line & length, no speed, no game plan. Link to comment
SachDan
That is the field placement most captains would have for an off spinner bowling over the wicket..a short third man and a sweeper cover.Since bowlers were bowling short n wide most of the time (which they are not expected to bowl), Dhoni should have had one more fielder at point. veer
seriously.. it was wrong placement.. he was trying to save singles but leaking boundaries instead.. pathetic.. Link to comment
Sachinism
seriously.. it was wrong placement.. he was trying to save singles but leaking boundaries instead.. pathetic.. You don't set fields for bad bowling. Link to comment
SachDan
You don't set fields for bad bowling. When you know that your bowlers are having an off day, there's nothing wrong in protecting areas which was not in plan-A Link to comment
zubinpepsi
Dhoni was sleeping today.... he was caught napping.. no imagintion watsover... why dint he bowl raina.... Link to comment
Max_Cady
After India got the 3rd wicket, Dhoni put on Virat Kohli and Yusuf Pathan, thereby taking the pressure off Youhana and Shoaib Malik. Bizarre move. Those two guys got their eye in comfortably on a nice wicket and it became impossible to get them out. Link to comment
diegovegaz
it was a poor show from the bowlers they kept bowling outside the off stump bhajji, what happened to him today? Link to comment
ludhianvi
hmmm... idea... wrist watches that capture all this information like D/L, etc Link to comment
Zelig
I thought Bhajji should have bowled from around the wicket a little more. Link to comment
