Ah fine. Argue about his performances, thats how should be judged:two_thumbs_up: SA test series in SA was a top performance. You can't just discard such a good performer, especially with the lack of options available. Yes the last time was a a while back. But come on be fair. HE HAS BEEN INJURED FOR AGES. He has been making comeback since injury and being doing well. Done county cricket were Donald helped him , now doing well in Irani. He is a must for the team, especially in tests

i think if he had performed well no one wud be givin two hoots abt his antics.. the main problem people here have is.. hes focussin more on his antics than performing.. gauti elbowed watson.. he was fined.. no one here made a fuss about him.. cuz he was performing.. at the end of the day performance counts n not ur antics.. sreesanthi doesnt deliver on the performance side..so hes ends up like an annoying silly sob.. i dont think anyone in the opposition fear him for these acts.. everyone take him as an immature git...

He did not actually get dropped. He was always right in the mix for selection. HE GOT INJURED and has been out for ages. He will definitley be back in squads. No doubts there. Selectors aint stupid.

To compare hem to Akthar is outrageous. He was druggie' date=' did not train properly, argued with all his team mates and was a totaly unproffesional player in his preperation etc. Sree is none of that. All sree does is abuse oppo when bowling. [/quote'] If you read my carefully, you'll probably realize yourself that I have not, anywhere in my post, compared Sreesanth with Akhtar. I have compared the Pakistani board’s and their fans’ attitude towards Akhtar, to that the one some of the posters here are showing towards Sreesanth. This notion that ‘It doesn’t matter how indisciplined a player is on or off the field, if he shows the potential to win matches for the team, lets bend over backwards to accommodate him’ is self-defeating, wrong and ludicrous.We have seen enough instances in the past (Akhtar, Asif, Symonds ) when such players have degenerated slowly but surely into unmitigated disaster, not just for the team, for the entire’s country pride.

Yes sree likes bollywood and tries to be in with that IT crowd. So what??? So may other players do the same, it does not mean you are not preparing for games properly. Also all around the world pro sportsman do a lot more mixing with celebs etc eg Beckham and co. No one is demanding their axing cos of it. I suppose you want Yuvraj axed after all he is regularly mixing with young bollywood beauties(good on him I say)?

And where have I ever said he should not live a celebrity life-style or have fun off the field. If anything, I have been one of the staunch supporters of Sreesanth and his eccentric behavior off the field, as you can see from this post of mine, made almost a year ago.

I dont understand whats the fuss about. Obviously, Sreesanth does have the habit of creating some headline or the other every now and then, but its not like there was devious reasons behind 'em, like a hit-and-run accident case or him assaulting someone else. Even better, like some of his Pakistani counterparts, he isnt in choppy waters for doing stuff like comsuming contraband and performance enhancing substances. The man's a natural, likes to be himself, whats wrong with that? Should EVERY cricketer be the Sachin-Dravid-Kumble type, with their usual PC self? Let me put it this way. If a normal person gets warned by the police for playing some loud music or having a over-exuberant b'day bash, we tend to excuse those instances much easily. But, just coz Sree's a cricketer, he gets roasted for trivial offenses. The fact of the matter is, we're so used to this stereotypical image of our national cricketers doing nothing but playing cricket and giving boring interviews, that if we find the odd case where a cricketer has some fun and lets his hair lose, then most of us hammer him left, right and center. Strange.... The kind of things for which Sree gets into trouble is absolutely bull-dust, compared to what some celebs do in the West. And its not like they get ostracized in the society beyond that. I pity guys like Sree and Bhajji, guys who wear their hearts on their sleeves. We need guys like them, otherwise things get bloody boring, honestly.

Sree is proffesional in his preparation and commitiment. No stories of missing training and not giving 100%. To compare to Akhtar is misleading and not fair.

Also you state you don't want him picked even if all other bowlers are rubbish and can't win us a match. Well sorry not with you there in your puritanical, over the top moralising. If sree wins us matches and along the way abuses oppo then fine by me, rather that then India losing.

First of all, lets stop kidding ourselves that if we pick Sreesanth now, that will be the end of all our fast bowling woes. It plainly isn’t. He was losing us matches at a time when most of our fast bowlers were prospering. What makes you think that at a juncture when the rest of the fast bowling crop is struggling to put pieces together, he will be our fast bowling messiah? And no, I would NEVER pick a player totally turning a blind-eye to his character on the field, just because he can win us a few games. That’s a recipe for disaster
