Dinx - the Jinx
looks like our team is going in the way of National soccer team from England.. A galaxy of superstars from clubs like Bekham, Rooney, Lampard, Gerard, Croch etc.. but not even able to make the semis in major international tournament.. i can see that coming.. in a few years from now, these club matches will be more important than winning any international competitions.. even the fans will become too narrow minded and be happy if their cities perform well and dont care whether the national team wins or sucks Link to comment
Guest Hiten.
I am surprised how an unknown commodities' quote over our players can instill fear in our minds. Some fickle fans we are huh Link to comment
MUMBAISKIPPER
Young players not saddened by Champs Trophy loss: Shetty Posted: Tuesday , Oct 13, 2009 at 1144 hrs Mumbai: India's Champions Trophy debacle has not hurt the younger cricketers of the side much as they are losing focus due to the lure of easy money in cash-awash Twenty20 leagues, BCCI Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty has said. "One of the senior players called up after the Champions Trophy (where Indian were knocked out in preliminary stage in South Africa) and said other players (youngsters) did not feel it (the loss as much as him). He said there was no feeling whether we win or not. There is no sadness (after losing)," said Shetty at a talk show in Mumbai. India lost their opening group match against arch rivals Pakistan before their second match against Australia got washed out due to rains. They won the inconsequential last league match against the West Indies and made their exit. Shetty, who did not reveal the name of the senior cricketer, indicated this trend was not good and needs to be looked into by the apex body for the sport in the country. Link to comment

Appeal for National 50 over games is just too much..at least in India and rest of subcontinent. 2011 World Cup and tv ratings for National 50 over games will prove that. Link to comment
