Cricketics Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He doesn't play like bevan, he doesn't play like anyone else, he just plays in his own style. Keeps coming down the track and will flick the ball towards mid wicket or square leg and will make the fielder run in vain. Doesn't matter whether it's spinner or seamer, He will play these unqiue style of shots. We are lucky to have him on the team. The name is MSD
Sachinism Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 If you people don't know now, you will never be able to appreciate the talent of this man
ViruRulez Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Dhoni's approach in the last few matches were a bit different but he was back in his sensible form today.. he was taking singles and rotating strike which helped in just keeping the flow of runs and hence he was successful ... in the last few matches he was not taking singles and that was the mistake This is brilliant style or strategy of taking singles and rotating strike and he should keep on doing that. But he should not become too defensive like he did in the last few games.
champ Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 this can work sometimes and backfire some times .. remember he got lbw to afridi in CT trying to come down track and take a single .. but if it gives more positives than negatives . it's ok .. brilliant crafted innings ..
Sachinism Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 ^^ I remember KKD (I think it was him) reading that book during a match last year
Guest Hiten. Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Running b/w the wickets was absolutely unIndian when Gauti and MSD were on the crease. They made sure every ball is counted and this is how they made up for the **** up they did in the first ODI. We screwed up middle overs in ODI 1 and that cost us the game. I hope India keeps doing this consistently.
Guest Hiten. Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 His running stride is so surreal, it seems as if he carries some sort of propeller. He just speeds like a rocket when converting singles into doubles. Gosh!
Sachinism Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 managed to watch India's innings yesterday. Brilliant running from MS, it was good that he batted with Gauti and Raina, who are both pretty good runners. They really made the most of every opportunity. And those runs when he was just walking down the wicket and punching the ball into the gaps and picking up 1's and 2's. One shot he played he could easily taken 3, but Gauti was not quick enough.
mhr123 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I am not sure if any1 of you wud agree with me but still I find his shots very close to VIV... VIV was not having the best of techniques neither his shots looked classy yet he was effective in destroying the opposition.U see the flicks and straight drive of MSD.. they all involve a lot of back strength with wrist movement... and compare this with VIV u can draw the similarity...
DomainK Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Dhoni is an amazing talent. He seems to have a very faulty technique, but I think he is odd in his bat uplift and follow through. When he makes contact with the ball, he does things right. And he can clear field with sheer power even when he mistimes a shot. He reads the ball very well even on difficult surfaces. He can defend, he can attack, he can rotate strike. This guys is an absolute genius.

ViruRulez Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Just found the pic of the "angry young man" look of our Captain Cool from yesterday's match. He was looking awesome in that pic. Johnson was messing around with our batsmen including Veeru but after that look Johnson did not say a single word throughout the match. :phehehe:
ViruRulez Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 ^^ That was after Dhoni bumped into him Yup I know.. but Johnson did not sledge any batsman after that... he was just messing around with the batsmen and sledging them before that look :giggle:

Online Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 What a pic!! Too good! Thanks for sharing!! btw, an old vid that shows our skipper on skates Yc3LX6TGCbk
champ Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 What a pic!! Too good! Thanks for sharing!! btw, an old vid that shows our skipper on skates Yc3LX6TGCbk from the time dhoni debuted for india ,i am more impressed with his stamina to steal singles and two's rather than his big hitting ..just amazing .. i remember in last series against australia at home .. he had run a half dozen 2's in a single over which was just freaky .. and in the end of it he was looking for more !! this is reason he has ability to play big innings but still we should not burn him out .. he is multi tasking a lot at the moment for my liking ..
