davidcooper
http://cricket.rediff.com/report/2009/nov/07/jadeja-will-learn-from-his-mistakes-says-dhoni.htm Ravindra Jadeja's ill-timed run out in back-to-back One-dayers against Australia notwithstanding, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ] on Saturday, backed the promising all-rounder saying he would learn from his mistakes. The dismissal of Jadeja, who was trying to sneak a non-existent single at a crucial moment in the fifth match in Hyderabad, dashed India's hopes as the home team lost by three runs to Australia on Thursday. Incidentally, Jadeja was also dismissed in a similar fashion in the fourth ODI at Mohali, where the hosts suffered a 24-run defeat on November 2. "He (Jadeja) has been bowling well in the series and with more and more matches, we will see him more as a batsman. Jadeja is learning from his mistakes," Dhoni said after the team's training session at the Nehru Stadium. Jadeja, who has bagged six wickets in the seven-match series so far, also received special attention from coach Gary Kirsten as the South African spent more than half-an-hour with the Saurashtra all-rounder explaining batting techniques. Special attention was also given to Amit Mishra, with Sachin Tendulkar advising the leg-spinner personally. On a seemingly bowling-wicket at Nehru Stadium, Mishra is likely to replace paceman Munaf Patel [ Images ], who had conceded 73 runs from nine overs without any success in Hyderabad. When quizzed about the playing eleven, Dhoni said, "It has always been the case, I don't announce the playing XI." While the regular batsmen preferred to take rest, bowlers had their usual net session. Harbhajan Singh batted close to 15 minutes during the net session with Praveen Kumar, Mishra, Tendulkar and Sudeep Tyagi giving him practice. "There was no particular reason behind this. We wanted to give the guys some rest and the lower order batted," Dhoni said. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: dhoni and jadeja are chaddi friends Link to comment

ViruRulez
The guy has got some batting talent and being one of the top scorers in domestic cricket and then IPL is not child's play. But I dont know what happens to him when he comes to bat in international matches. He is just too afraid and his body language is pathetic. You can see his nervousness in the running between wickets. In the 5th ODI it was a lot better but still not that good. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
I hate Rohit for his inconsistent performance. But i would dearly love to have him at no.7. Link to comment
ViruRulez
I hate Rohit for his inconsistent performance. But i would dearly love to have him at no.7. :dito: But maybe I will wait for Irfan's domestic performance in the Ranji series to check how he does. He has recovered from his injury and will play the next Baroda match perhaps. The no.7 spot would better fit to Irfan or to Jadeja (if he can again start batting properly) than Rohit as they are a lot better with the ball than Rohit. Link to comment
