champ
Look I wish India won too but accept it ... Australia are still the no.1 side in the world. They won the Champions Trophy and then they beat us @ home. Imagine if the roles were reversed and we won the Champions Trophy and beat Australia in Australia, I'm pretty sure most of us would declare India as the no.1 side then. I dont really pay attention to rankings but Australia have proven over the last few months that they are still no.1 in ODIs. In Tests its a different story, given that they lost 3 of their last 5 test series. Its a tough call as to who is the best. India or South Africa are up there. You would have to say South Africa, even though they lost to Australia. They have been the most consistent over the past few years. i am not even talking about us as being no.1 .. we are not .. our batting may be no.1 but not fielding or bowling .. Link to comment
bharat297
^ I was referring to your statement that just because Australia won this series doesn't make them no.1. Im saying it does. Link to comment

coffee_rules
They have been winning bi-lateral ODI series since 1986-87. So, what's new? Looks like they have India's number in India in ODIs. They even won the series played before the desert storm in 1998. Link to comment
Params7
saying the triumph has established that Ricky Ponting's men are the undisputed kings of limited overs game. There's no denying that. India's been on a bad patch since the final of Compaq Cup. Link to comment
Ram
Australia has every reason to be cocky after this. Why wouldn’t they be? They came here depleted by injuries, while we went into this series bolstered by the return of some important players. And when the series started, they lost more players by the day. Yet, they have managed to prevail over us. This series has been a triumph of Aussie professionalism over Indian effervescent talent. From a purely Indian perspective, we lost our best chance yet to put one past them in a bilateral series. In some ways, this loss hurts more than the Championship trophy loss, because unlike the Champions trophy, we had so many opportunities in this one to pull it off. Yet, we missed them all. Well played Australia, not good enough India! Link to comment
