Params7
I said Aamer was noway a No.10 batsmen after the innings he played vs Australia in CT. Today he almost gave hope to a side that needed 100 runs to make with no wickets remaining. He'll go a long, long way if he sticks to his game no doubt. Link to comment
Andy
Aamir has a good cover drive' date=' plays good legside shots to spinners, not like Irfan with the Bat yet but better with the ball, easily.[/quote'] Irfan Pathan anyday 10 time beter batsman dan Aamer!! Aaamer is more like murali as a batsman!! who gets away frm the wicket and swings the bat blindly!! But he is a beter batsman ddan murali!! Irfan Pathan is even a beter batsman dan ur **** Shoiab Malik!! Link to comment
Andy
Aaamer lacks technique..wat Irfan doesnt!! Link to comment
Cricketics
He will become a poor bowler but will do Okay in batting in future. The kind of attitude he has while bowling, I feel he will not progress much in bowling. I see little arrogance in his bowling. Not the same arrogance which a good bowler should have, but a certain different kind which most of the pakistani bowlers have when they are doing good and eventually get nowhere from there by keeping that particular attitude alive in them. king2be98
The statistics show that this guy has already a better start to his career than Wasim Akram. Now Akram is considered to be the best left arm bowler ever to have played the game, no doubt Akram was useful with the bat, but his bowling was outrageously good. So that's a start. He had a problem in the 20-20 world cup where he could only both length and balls going away from the right hander. He's already almost completely rectified those issues, he can bowl a sharp bouncer and hit the blockhole too. He has most importantly as Waqar Younis stated along with Tony Greig started to develop an inswinger, perhaps not one that darts back in like Akram used to get to it, but it's starting to and with time he'll make it come back more. There is one other thing this kid, who is still a little kid has going for him, that's genuine pace. He is consistently at 87-88mph, when he grows and gets stronger as all fast bowlers do, he will be a 90mph bowler. So what's the outcome, this guy has the world at his feet. As for the comparison with Pathan, thats unfair, Pathan was a medium pacer at best, even when young Pathan was never ever quick and still isn't. Pathan is a very good swing bowler, but on the flat tracks we see day in day out, he became easy pickings. Pathan was a terrific lower order batsman, a real danger because of his ability to find and clear the boundary. Aamer is pretty much a decnt lower order batsman, one who will chip in with 20-30s regularly and occassionally a good 50 like we saw today. But what do I want Pakistan to do with him? TO USE HIM AS A BOWLER AND BOWLER ALONE. Wicket taking bowlers are priceless, batsmen and mediocre all-rounders can be found everywhere, but genuine wicket takers are priceless, so I want him used in the that way. India starting to push Pathan up the order for his batting and look how poor his bowling became, almost as if being a strike bowler didn't matter. Pakistan must not make the same mistake with Aamer. Online
The real benchmark though that Aamer should aim for is Agarkar since Agarkar is greater than Akram Link to comment
Sehwag fan
The real benchmark though that Aamer should aim for is Agarkar since Agarkar is greater than Akram :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: But seriously this guy has some talent.. the worrying thing for him is to be injury free. Looking at his past injuries & his bowling action it seems he is more likely to get injured than Waqar or Wasim. Waqar & Wasim had far more smoother runup & action than what Aamer has. Online
I am not kidding Much more talented than Akram I would say, just had some concentration problems occasionally and despite the handicap look at the numbers : 288 wickets in 199 matches @ 1.5 wickets per match In contrast, Akram has only 502 wickets in 356 matches @ 1.4 wickets per match. Akram's SR is a pedestrian 36.2 compared to Agarkar's 32.9. Agarkar picked up a 4 wicket haul 10 times in 199 matches @ 0.05 Akram on the other hand has only 17 4 wicket hauls in 356 matches @ 0.047. Against the '99, '03, and '07 WC champions Australia, Agarkar averages 28.4 at a phenomenal SR or 29 - Akram 27.4 at a pathetic SR of 38.9. Against the '96 WC champions SL, Agarkar smokes an average of 20.6 and Akram is at 21.0. Moreover, Agarkar's SR is an unreal 24 as opposed to Akram's 33. They have similar batting averages and Agarkar was miles and away the better fielder. The flat fast throw from the outfield and diving stops would make Akram look like Powar. It is evidenced in Agarkar taking 0.275 catches per innings and Akram managing only 0.250. If Agarkar had played to his potential and tailunt he would have been the best cricketer of the generation because despite him not fulfilling his potential he has better numbers than the overrated Akram. Discuss. Link to comment
bharat297
His bowling reminds me of Wasim Akram. Lets see how this kid develops. Link to comment

King Tendulkar
He has already shown that he is better bowler & batsman than Irfan Pathan. Well thats no achievment, Pathan is pants! Thats like saying one of your bats is better then Kaif, hardly proves a lot! But this aamer seems a good prospect Link to comment
