Is Yuvraj a better batsman than VVS Laxman?

It amazes me as to how many people convincingly don't answer many of my questions

So this is where it comes down to this is the total amount of runs Yuvi and Lax have made while playing in the same matches. 1522 - UV 1786 - Lax Lax leads by 264 runs after all the experience he has had while UV was new. UV has NO ZERO's in this telly and he did not bat in one of the matches. He has 3 100s. Lax has TWO ZERO's while He has 6 100s. Now can some one compare the two in ODIs?? Any takers?

Yeah...it does make Laxman a superior player because he averages 46.28 in matches where both have played and Yuvraj averages 38.36 and scored twice the number of hundreds than Yuvraj and more 50s! Look at the performance away from home Laxman 48.29, Yuvraj 29.73!! No zeros!! Well Anderson has score only one in his career - makes him a world class batsman I suppose! All the experience? Laxman scored the 281 against Australia in his 22nd test at the age of 27.....what has Yuvraj done till now?

ok... let me get my point clear here before people start taking different meanings and dilute my point. For me, ONE WHO CAN SUCCEED IN CRICKET REGARDLESS OF THE FORMAT IS THE TRUE CHAMPION. I CONSIDER THAT AS ADJUSTING TO THE SITUATION. ONE WHO CAN ONLY PLAY ONE KIND OF THE FORMAT IS NOT AD GOOD TO THE ONE WHO CAN PLAY ALL FORMATS.

back to the RAMAYAN waugh succeeded in both Tests and Odi's compared to Bevan... Have I not been saying this for last 500 years? :wall:

Waugh's ODI average 32.9....It was obviously a hyperbolic statement but the difference is a staggering 21 points and 60% better!

wait..I read it wrong..22nd.. UV hit his first century in his third match it self...It still puts UV ahead when it comes to hitting centuries at young ages... 16th test for Lax's first test 100 but why are we excluding ODI so convincingly?

again...I didn't count UV's two games against OZ because that was not enough to make inferential statements. Same goes here, Sachin has not played enough T20 to compare the two. (snip) if you go back to all my posts... I have been carefully comparing UV's T20 vs Lax's Twenty20(IPL and other dumb matches) ..since t20 and twenty20 closely resemble.

So you're basically picking and choosing your statistics based on what suits you? Tendulkar has played MORE T20 cricket than VVS Laxman. Yet he's not played a statistically significant number to compare. But on the other hand, Laxman hasn't played as many as him, but you're able to make the comparisons for VVS?

Tendulkar has played 1 single T20..so you want me to take that into account? sensible...:clap: you do realize that T20 and Twenty20 are two different things right? ICC's 20 over games called T20 All the other 20 over games are called Twenty20 (IPL etc.) since the two resemble very closely..... It's funny how one wing of people are defending lax based on the fact that he has not played T20 so he can't be compared... Other is only sticking to Tests NO ONE HAS THE GUTS TO TOUCH ODIs

I was talking about M Waugh... when did i say Tendulkar = Yuvraj? it's more like this that's if you are talking about over all performance (in ALL FORMATS) Tendulkar = Ponting >>> bevan > Yuvraj > Laxman I said that bevan was a fab in Odi's at times since some one was talking about it.... I want to say that Tendy > ponting just for the sake of it...yet i won't ...

Um, this is a :WTF: moment. from Wikipedia (I can't believe I have to do this):

Ok, now that we are clear with the terminology: Mr. Genius, Twenty20 matches played between two countries is denoted T20I (as in T20 International). Sachin has played 1(!) T20I game for India. VVS Laxman has played... 0! But you are comparing VVS' T20 stats to Yuvraj's and refuse to compare Tendulkar's to Yuvraj's. Why? Also, as Mr. Wicket pointed out, if we look at the # of games that Sachin's played (25), it is bigger than the # of games Laxman has played (16 and remember, not one internat'l game). Pray tell me how you refuse to compare Tendulkar to Yuvraj Singh but want to compare Laxman to Yuvraj Singh, when YS has played 244 ODIs compared to Laxman's 86, and Laxman has played 16 T20s in all compared to Yuvraj's 57. And I've pointed out that in those 86 matches, Laxman has played excellent innings vs. the best attack of his generation that Yuvraj has yet to match - considering he's got 3 centuries vs. Australia inspite of playing more games, and 2 of those are at Hyderabad !
