Jersey #10 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 in ODI's you need the skills of having a go at those good deliveries along with the bad ones... In tests you are supposed to make runs off of bad deliveries only...you can easily let go of the good ones and you can go on to score double and triple hundreds...
vvvslaxman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 and laxman fails at a heavily batsman oriented version of cricket...:hmmm: Laxman can bat all day without getting out in one dayers. You think that is hard for him? Only thing that he will lack is acceleration. Just because he doesn't have the ability to accelerate won't make him a bad batsman. You honestly think Laxman would be cluelessly edging the ball to slips like Yuvraj was doing in Tests?

So you think triple hundreds can be "easily" made? Then how many triple centuries have been scored in the history of Test cricket? Man, your boy Yuvi struggles to make hundreds and you are talking about it being easy to make triple hundreds, wow, just wow!

Explain why Sachin hasn't scored a 300 if it is that easy

EXACTLY You need to pace your innings in Odi's...which is a very important part of a batsman...tell me if it's not... standing there is different than being productive in a limited over's time
Sooda Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I THINKS The thread should be renamed to- Tests or ODIs- which is the sterner examination of a batsmans ability? Thats what it boils down to

Explain to me.
Jersey #10 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Explain why Sachin hasn't scored a 300 if it is that easy Why has Lax not made a 300 in tests? does that mean he is a bad test player? 250 odd in Tests is good enough to prove test batting skills.

Jersey #10 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Do you know why it is harder for a team to get Test status compared to ODI status? Explain to me. I don't Please elaborate

You were the one who said it is easy to make 300 runs in Tests. not me :cantstop: You said you can leave the ball all day and make 300s..

vvvslaxman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I don't Please elaborate Shorter the game less skilled will perform better. For instance Pakistan who won T20 game were brutally exposed in Tests. It is not that hard to win an occasional ODI. But it is very very hard to win a Test match. Bangladesh is playing Test cricket for 10 years. THey are yet to win a single Test against a top team (discounting that farce WI series). But they have already beaten Australia/SA/India/Pakistan/SL in one dayers.

No pulling off a win in one dayer against any team is easier than pulling off a win in Tests. You should already know it. I don't have to explain this much. Jeez.
TSAG_RGB Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 So this is where it comes down to this is the total amount of runs Yuvi and Lax have made while playing in the same matches. 1522 - UV 1786 - Lax Lax leads by 264 runs after all the experience he has had while UV was new. UV has NO ZERO's in this telly and he did not bat in one of the matches. He has 3 100s. Lax has TWO ZERO's while He has 6 100s. Now can some one compare the two in ODIs?? Any takers? http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;filter=advanced;orderby=batting_average;player_involve=3317;player_involve=7716;player_involve_type=all;qualmin1=20;qualval1=innings;team=6;template=results;type=batting In the ODIs that they have played together, Laxman has scored more runs, has a better average and has hit more centuries than Yuvraj. And also scored lesser number of zeros than Yuvraj.

I don't have to explain this much. Jeez. half the test matches are drawn any ways...and quarter of the matches which are won are because of the unfair advantage of the pitch... others are won on skills and planning...BD is yet to do this in ODI as well

Ireland in turn beat Bangladesh in the same world cup. Anybody can win on a given day. Some people are good at concentrating on very short periods.
vvvslaxman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 4, 18, 9 so far. Yuvraj is losing his deposit lol
