Captain of Bhangra Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 When I was watching the Pakistan/Sri Lanka T20 final, and it became obvious who was going to win, I switched off. No matter how new the format, or the fact that we were the first ever winners, I turned off, because there was no excuse, and I had to accept that the team I despise, were World Champions. I avoided all articles/threads, as a sane person, I knew I had no case, because as the official stats said, Pakistan were World T20 champions. So I kept quiet... That, my friends, is the difference between an Indian man (me), and a Paki troll that still has the nerve to be here, arguing which player is better than who, and how India don't deserve to be the top ranked Test side, trying to pick at anything he can, to try and ease his pain and jealousy... Fair enough, it may be a bad comparison, as Indians knew what it was like to win the World T20, whereas Pakis have never been the top ranked Test side, and also because Test cricket is the original, and holy grail, but I'd like to think if they had been announced as the top ranked side today, I'd just accept the facts, be jealous, but shut the **** up to maintain some dignity...
Pioneer Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 India's batting is pretty insane I must admit, Zaheer's wickets were NICE too so yeah its India's moment to shine all the way. If Pakistan was number one, I would be ecstatic so I wouldn't let some stats war get in the way of celebrating. By the way to Sachinism, relating to Asif, you don't really think he's still on Nandro, yet hes performed quite well these past two tests so give him a little credit. @ Captain Bhangra, I get you, I feel the same about some Pakistanis who should be congratulating you guys instead of being bitter ( which is natural I guess, but they shouldn't look like spoilsports) Anyways this is from a Pakistani with a good head on his shoulders (I think) Congratulations again everyone:two_thumbs_up:
Captain of Bhangra Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Look who's the most excited player !! :adore: No surprise. His 20 year career, the 1st half (a whole decade) was spent in a mediocre team going nowhere. Most of the second half was spent in a team that promised big things, with historic performances/results popping up here and there, but seemed to stumble at times. After a whole 20 years, he is experiencing the ultimate team success for only the first time...
Jersey #10 Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 that are not 3 moments, that are his records agaisnt three counries, otherwise each wicket agaisnt india, sehwag , tendulkar falling is asif feets, laxman are all great moment,s and you should be ashamed to count zak special moments the guy has played more than 50 test mtches, asif 13, asif is already way better..... that another greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat one, zak better than asif?????????? Yes, Zak is better than asif. Asif is on a high right now and let's talk once he plays 50+ test matches. I recon, he will be kicked before that (my prediction). Not because of his fault but the faulty PCB he has to deal with. Let's see how far his high goes because every player hits a low at least once. Playing 50 tests is an amazing feat of it's own. :king: Conclusion: Zak's efforts have helped India reach the NUMERO UNO spot in the WORLD. Let's see how far Asif gets along.
vvvslaxman Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 My only quirk is missing of Gambhir who have been instrumental in India getting to this spot. When is his sister's marriage? He could have made a brief appearance and gone back immediately.
Captain of Bhangra Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Asif is on a high right now Is that an intentional pun?...
vvvslaxman Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Guys enough with pakistan/india comparisons. Getting old now. The thread is just an appreciation of India getting to no.1 spot and congradulating those who were responsible for it. If there are trolls just get rid of them.

S.Bond Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Ok to stop this i will post what i think about the topic... India is the number one test team : Congratulations to all indian fans and to indian team... That is a very big achivment, really not easy, and that can be seen by the litle number of teams that have done it... Congrats! But i still think to be as dominant as australia were, and to be the same kind of number 1, india or even south africa will have to do more... Stay at number 1 more... India will have to win more abroad and south africa will have to show more consistency...
